“Cozy comfort in the rice fields 15 mins walk to wonderful Ubud”

Villa Siri is one of three new villas along the famous rice field walk off Jalan Kejang just north of Ubud Palace. It's about a 5-10 min walk from the end of Jalan Kejang along a narrow motorcycle path. We've been to Ubud many times and I do think this is a great location if you're ok with a little walk. It's so quiet and beautiful, it's hard to believe you're so close to the centre of Ubud.

The villa itself is small and perfectly proportioned with the bedroom downstairs looking over a pretty plunge pool and surrounded by a high wall giving privacy. The pool is very tiny. I could stand in the middle and touch each side. It also doesn't get any sun, so it can be a bit cool. Good for a refreshing dip if the tropical heat is getting to you. There's a full bathroom (shower, no bath) downstairs as well. Upstairs is the open living, dining and kitchen, with views over the rice fields on two sides. This area is quickly being built up with new villas and there's some being built a couple of fields away that blocks the view somewhat from the balcony. There's still lovely scenery inbetween though, (and to be fair, it looks like Villa Siri also blocks the view of The Samara, the villa complex just before it. It's just the nature of development around Ubud). There's a half-bathroom upstairs, a nice terrace, and cable tv. There's no DVD player so you might want to save your pirated DVD purchases for when you get home.

The staff are really lovely. Gede, the driver, met us at the airport and took great care of us on the drive up to Ubud. We met Ketut and Komang, who were in charge, and Ayu and the other women who made our breakfast and took care of the room. They will do anything for you, cups of tea and coffee whenever you like. They were all wonderful with our little toddler, who was very spoiled by all the attention. The villa isn't greatly safe for little ones so you do need to be careful, there's big gaps in the balustrade over the balcony and the stairs that our baby would just have loved to throw himself through, and of course, the pool isn't fenced at all. If you take kids, you just need to be aware of them at all times.

We have had a really lovely time in Villa Siri and would totally recommend it for the location, amenities and lovely staff.

Thank you for the lovely review! Villa Siri is perfectly situated in the rice fields, as you mentioned, and a very easy walk into Ubud and all its fine cultural activities, shopping and restaurants.

We have since put in a new DVD player, so you will be able to enjoy all those DVD's! On your next visit, we can child proof the banisters, veranda and pool, and our staff will still spoil your little one with great pleasure! We look forward to your return.
