““Little Gem in the middle of the rice fields””
Reviewed 17 December 2016 for a stay in November 2016

My experience at Villa Siri exceeded my expectations in every way. I don't have enough good things to say about this place. First off the staff were exceptionally friendly, helpful, genuine and extremely personable. The owners were very quick to respond and helped with my travel arrangements, they made my experience stress-free, thank you! The view from my villa was absolutely breathtaking. The villa is situated in the middle of the rice fields which made for beautiful walks and loads of options for joggers, serenity at its finest! The villa is about a 12 minute walk from the busy streets of the village. The staff provides door to path bike service at no extra cost. Brilliant! If you're not up for the walk, there are plenty of amenities nearby, including a cozy restaurant with a beautiful menu 20 feet from your door step. The villa itself is fully loaded, with a well-equipped kitchen, elegantly furnished living area, an expansive deck complete with outdoor furniture overlooking the rice fields, a private swimming pool to enjoy on extremely hot days, free high speed internet, AC, satellite TV. I found this villa extremely comfortable, peaceful, quite with spacious rooms that were very clean and beautifully decorated. It made me never want to leave. I couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. I highly recommend this villa. First class in every way. I will definitely be back!!!

“What we were hoping for”
Reviewed 5 November 2016 for a stay in September 2016

My wife, toddler and I stayed at Villa Siri for approximately one week looking for a peaceful, quiet and a bit exclusive location, and we certainly got it. Not only was the accommodation itself brilliant, but so was the staff. We were well taken care of.

The villa was clean and laid out well, which was great for our crawler. Plenty of tv options, no problems with wifi and the mobile/cellular phone to contact staff is a great idea. The kitchen was very useful, the bed was comfortable, the bathrooms were spotless and overall felt quite upscale in comparison to other SEA accommodation. We had no complaints. The two best aspects were the balcony and the pool. I would wake up with my toddler at dawn and sip coffee as the sun came up over the gorgeous rice paddies. It's a tranquil experience I couldn't really put into words. In the afternoon heat, we made use of the courtyard pool, it became our afternoon retreat with drinking coconuts and bintangs from the folks selling refreshments a few meters away from the villa.

We splurged on the associated drivers a few of the days, and explored the greater area. Our driver Gede was on time, friendly and knowledgeable, which we appreciated since we were with him all day. One of the days he became concerned that something happened to us and walked the distance to the waterfall we were at to check on us. He would hand us cold bottled water after being in the heat for a few hours. Thankfully he was also available for a 3AM pickup for a volcano hike. I'm glad we had Gede as our driver.

The nearby Warungs that served food were all fantastic, but we did end up relying on delivery service for food several nights. One of the staff's family members brought us food from their restaurant during a downpour, and it was incredibly convenient.

This villa is about a 15 minute walk from the busier streets of the village, and in retrospect we are very glad we didn't stay anywhere else. It was beautiful away from the busy streets.

I should mention there was an error with our payment, and the owner did all they could to assist us in securing our holiday. Again, something to be grateful for.

Looking back, it was exactly what we were after and I'd certainly recommend it. Perhaps some day we'll make it back.

“Perfect villa, perfect position”
Reviewed 24 October 2016 for a stay in October 2016

This one bedroom villa is great value. Positioned in the rice fields but still only a 10 minute walk into town. Kasey, the owner was extremely quick with our enquiries and payment was so easy using PayPal.
The villa is beautiful. Well equipped with a small pool. Mind you the pool doesn't see much sun so it is very refreshing. Some may even say cold. Wifi is better than we had in a large hotel in Sanur. You are well looked after by the lovely staff. Your breakfast is cooked in your villa each morning. The staff are always around if you have a problem but are not intrusive. You are given a mobile with all the contact numbers free of charge which I thought was a nice touch.
As I mentioned, town is only a 10 minute walk but there are nearby warungs if you can't be bothered.
We have been to Ubud a number of times but never stayed in this area. Such a quite, peaceful spot. I'm sure we will be back.

You have really captured the Siri experience, and we thank you for the exceptional review! The pool is indeed refreshing from the heat of Bali, and we are checking into solar pool heating for milder days. Our well trained staff have perfected the art of stealth, and always seem to know when to be there!

“Lovely villa in rice fields”
Reviewed 7 October 2016 for a stay in August 2016

My partner and I stayed here in August 2016- we would highly recommend Villa Siri. Very clean and comfortable. Great location if you want to get away from the busy town. We rented bicycles for our stay and enjoyed cycling around Ubud. Ideal villa for two people. The pool, although small, was a refreshing relief from the heat. The staff were helpful and unobtrusive. Great value for money.

“Villa Siri, Serenity in the Ricefields of Ubud”
Reviewed 7 August 2016 for a stay in July 2016

We booked Villa Siri through Flipkey, and from the initial enquiry, we had constant communication with the owner Kasey, who emailed us a very comprehensive information booklet, some 30 pages - so professional!
We emailed Gede, who is Villa Siri's professional driver to pick us up from the airport and take us to Ubud - fantastic, reliable, and a lovely clean air conditioned car, Gede was waiting for us at the arrivals area with a nice big sign with our name on it, and promptly guided us to his vehicle, loaded our luggage, and off to Ubud we went.
We arrived at the drop off point which is about 800mtrs up Jl Kajeng, where we were met by Wayan, one of Villa Siri's live in staff, where Wayan promptly whisked us off to Villa Siri one by one, on his scooter.
Now you can decide to walk instead, but it is about a 400mtr walk, and it's uphill, and I mean uphill!
It is amazing what Wayan can carry on his motorbike, in no time at all, Wayan had all our luggage in the villa - Impressive.
My wife was being shown around the villa when I arrived, we where shown everything we would ever need to know about the villa, all the in’s and outs, the staff made us feel right at home.

Villa Siri is located between two ricefields, located along Jl Kajeng, which is one of the “must do” ricefields walks when you are in Ubud, and here is our villa, right on its doorstep - WOW!

The villa has every mod con you could want for, even fibre optic wifi, and feels like a home away from home, the energy in the villa was warm & delightful.

A lovely kitchen with full size fridge, coffee maker, microwave, lovely dining setting for meals, a sitting room with comfy lounges and a large LCD TV with more TV Channels than you know what to do with. An upstairs toilet, a hot/cold water dispenser for drinking, air conditioner and ceiling fan, a full width balcony with nice furniture, overlooking the stunning ricefields and it was very magical in the mornings watching the mystic sun rising up over the trees.

Downstairs is a lovely entrance colonnade, and the main bedroom, which is fully air-conditioned and overlooks a lovely private plunge pool, which is accessible through a door in the bedroom.
There is an adjoining ensuite with a great shower with a waterfall spout - it’s just divine.

Breakfast was served every morning in the villa and was lovingly prepared fresh in the villas kitchen by the wonderful female staff at Villa Siri, we felt like we where being spoilt everyday, and nothing was ever too much trouble.
The villa is kept and maintained to a very high standard, and is looked after by Komang, Wayan, Desak, Iluh & Vera.

We both cannot praise the staff enough, they made our holiday so enjoyable and special.

From arriving at the villa we soon decided we where going to be over the walking aspect, as it is about 1.2km into Ubud, so we decided to rent our own scooter to ferry us into town and back, this was arranged by Komang, the scooter was almost brand new and only cost $4 a day, we had so much fun scooting around, and so much freedom, we rode it daily into town, parked in Jl Kajeng, the lane near Starbucks, and just walked around central ubud from there.

Now if your not into walking, and not game to hire a scooter, The wonderful staff at Villa Siri, will pick you up and drop you off when ever you like, so how do you call them you ask?, you call them on your own private mobile phone that they give you for your stay - How about that! It has all the numbers you will ever need for all the staff.

One lovely aspect of Villa Siri is the location, it is in what is called a “green zone” and there are no cars allowed, the serenity and peacefulness of being in the ricefields is bliss, waking up to birds singing, cows, roosters, with a view to die for, we loved watching from our balcony, the farmer tend to his rice field with such passion and honour, it was humbling.

We had a lovely 1hr massage about 20mtrs up from the villa at Juwuk Mnis Relaxing, it was the best $10 I spent on our holiday.

Another great spot to eat is a bit further up at the Luxe Cafe, now this is no cheap eats, this is 5 Star dining experience with the service to match, I believe it is one of the top rated restraunts in Ubud, and it’s on the door step of Villa Siri, we had the best meal by far in all of the trips we have made to Ubud.

We had many great walks is the ricefields along Kajeng, and spoke to and met many lovely locals along the way.

At the end of our 9 day stay, we didn’t want to leave, the villa staff where now friends, and are a credit to the owners, we have been to Bali many times, and always stay solely in Ubud, but we never have had the attention and friendship as we did from the staff at Villa Siri, it is just something very special and a holiday experience will will not forget.

Reviews do not get much better than this! Thank you so much for the comprehensive overview of Villa Siri. We are very proud of our villa and our talented and caring staff, who will go the extra mile to take superb care of our guests. They will also be happy to pick you up if you don't feel like doing the 13 minute walk from the center of town. The uphill section of our path takes only 2 minutes, and you are rewarded with lovely views and fresh, clean air after the hubbub of Ubud. We look happily forward to welcoming you back on your next visit!

“Beautiful villa, beautiful staff and wonderful location”
Reviewed 13 January 2016 for a stay in December 2015

Where do we start with this rental? My dictionary of superlatives is exhausted thinking about it.
Firstly. Location. These rentals are exactly as described, in the middle of the rice fields. We used the driver recommended by Kasey and Gede was able to take us as close as possible up the narrowing laneway until we couldn’t get any further. A quick phone call and the first motorbike appeared. Onto the back and away up the short, sharp hill and onto the narrow concrete pathway to the villas. It was funnier watching the luggage arrive with one on the step at the front and one of the girls sitting on the back nursing the other. It was literally rice fields as far as you could see interspersed with villas.
This was the last time we used the bikes, even though they were always available on a call from the villa provided mobile, with the pre-programmed numbers. We chose to walk in to Ubud, and back up the dreaded hill. It only took three minutes up the hill but felt like 20. The overall walk from the main road to the villas was 20 minutes and a very interesting walk at that. A number of shops and restaurants just in case you didn’t have enough in Ubud itself. This was fine until the one day we left it too late and were caught in the hugest downpour. The only time without an umbrella. Not much you can do when you are drowned but keep walking.
The laneway is only five minutes from the Palace and Monkey Forest Road so could not be more convenient. Turn at Starbucks, which is difficult as it doesn’t exist as such. It is being renovated.
An added attraction is that all the way along the lane and pathway the concrete pavers have been inscribed with writings from visitors and businesses, and the funny quotes from Luxe on the bins and signposts. All added to the charm. The other advantage to being in the rice fields is that you can feel the temperature drop as soon as you get to the top of the hill. It is so much more pleasant rather than being in the town.
Now to the villas. There are five in all. You will pass Satori on your way to the others. It was the original and as luck would have it Kasey and her husband Rico (the owners) were staying there at the time. Kasey’s response time on email to any query was instantaneous before and after our stay, and she graciously came to visit when we first arrived. Kasey even sent us her newsletter that updates you on the villas, Ubud and makes recommendations on shopping and dining before we arrived.
There is a “complex” of four villas, with two more being built. One-bedroom Siri - that we stayed in – and one x two- and two x three-bedroom villas. Named- Santana, Serena and Solera. Each is in its own walled garden area and all have their own pool. The grounds are immaculate and the units even more so.
Siri. This is a one-bed villa with the bedroom on the ground floor with the pool outside the window. Unfortunately, it is overhung by the rest of the building so doesn’t get any sun so is on the cool to b***** freezing end of the scale. Very refreshing after returning from shopping or dining. The bathroom is off the bedroom and is fully equipped and furnished. Through the lobby and up the marble stairs into the open plan lounge/dining/ kitchen area. There is a table for two, lounge and chairs and TV unit and coffee table. There is also a large toilet and bathroom next to the kitchen.
The kitchen is absolutely fitted out with everything you could possibly want. There is also a powered hot and cold fresh water dispenser.
Both the bedroom and the lounge is aircon.
Outside the lounge there is a full length covered verandah overlooking the rice fields with chairs and table and clothes airer.
The furnishings and décor throughout all the villas is of the highest standard. No expense has been spared on the artwork, artefacts and furnishings. This is seriously well done and a credit to Kasey and her staff. Remembering that everything had to be carried by hand or on the back of a motorbike from Ubud. Another important factor is that these villas are still cheap by many standards and includes a cooked breakfast daily. There are plenty of villas for rent in Bali but rarely of this standard or cost.
The staff. As with a Homestay we stayed at in Pemuteran it is the staff that make the difference. Kasey has a wonderful young group of staff members, most of whom have worked for her for some time. There is a resident manager and then the staff members Komang, Desak, Vera and Iluh. They can’t do enough for you. Want something picked up in Ubud? Want dinner cooked in your villa? They will go and do the shopping for you, and cook your meal if required.
Early every morning they are there, cleaning and cooking. On most days we had the three girls chattering away preparing fruit platters, making fresh coffee and cooking breakfast however you would like it, and while you were having breakfast they were making beds and cleaning.
There was no-one in the other villas while we were there so they were off every day cleaning and polishing the other villas and maintaining the gardens and surrounds.
For our last day we had a late flight so we asked if we could stay in our villa until later. As it turned out they did have someone coming into Siri that day so we were offered the two bed villa for the day, at no cost. Use the pool, shower, whatever. Nothing was too much trouble.
As I said to Kasey by email after we left. I could live in the two bed villa, it is that comfortable, and the three bed ones are even more so. They are beautiful and so well fitted out. We were fortunate enough during our stay to ask if we could see the other villas as we knew there was no-one staying. They have outdoor or semi-outdoor bathrooms. They have TV, aircon, beautiful furnishings inside and out, sweeping marble staircases, full kitchens, their own grounds and large swimming pools. All have high speed internet for free.
The only problem when trying to find out costs and availability of the other villas was trying to find them on Trip Advisor. I couldn’t, so asked Kasey and she advised that they were on Flipkey, or a site I am not familiar with VRBO. Take the time it is well worth it if you are considering staying in a villa in Ubud. These villas are seriously good value and beautifully presented with wonderful staff.
We will be back. We spent three weeks in Bali on this visit (twelve other times in the past) at four different places from one end of Bali to the other, and this was the highlight for us. Thank you Kasey, thank you Komang, Desak, Vera and Iluh.

“Luxury and Comfort in the Ricefields”
Reviewed 5 January 2016 for a stay in December 2015

My wife and I were fortunate to have stayed at Villa Siri for 6 days at the end of December. Upon booking Villa Siri I received thorough information from the owner, Kasey, about all the details anyone would need to plan a trip to Bali. Topics included arrival and departure information, detailed expectations and information about her staff and the villa, recommended attractions and activities in the area, practical information about Ubud, and one of my favorite topics, a comprehensive list of restaurant reviews! Prior to arriving and during our stay Kasey remained in communication and it's clear that she truly cares about each one of her guests and ensures that their trip is as seamless and enjoyable as possible. The same can be said about the staff that work at Villa Siri.

Villa Siri is located at the end of Jalan Kajeng, up a hill, and down a foot and motorbike path that is inaccessible by cars. Siri's staff transported all of our luggage by car and then by motorbike to our villa. There are very pretty and serene views of the rice fields and we met wonderful Balinese people who live and work along this pathway. There's a perfect spot to stop along your walk to the villa to purchase a young coconut and chat with Nyoman, "the coconut man!" Others will provide a warm smile and engage in friendly conversation. Aside from the gorgeous views and friendly people is the fact that it is very quiet and peaceful in the rice fields. We enjoyed seeing the farmers going about their daily routines. There are other villas in the area and some currently being built but there is still plenty of nature to enjoy. There are also some beautiful trails at the end of the footpath. We enjoyed hiking around to other areas in the rice fields. Hiking through the jungle and along these trails we continued to meet wonderful people and had plenty of opportunities for beautiful photos. We always ended up at warungs along our hike to enjoy a beverage and a snack before continuing. Very close to Siri is a warung and a spa located in the loft of a bale. We did not try the warung but my wife and I enjoyed some of the spa treatments. Additionally, you can arrange to have the massage therapist come to the villa for treatments. At the end of the path about a 3-4 minute walk is a luxury villa which happens to have one of the highest rated restaurants in Ubud. One night when we didn't feel like going back into town we enjoyed dinner there and it's nice having that option so close.

The villa itself provides luxury and comfort and feels more like you're staying at a beautiful home than a rental unit. We found the bed and pillows to be very comfortable along with high quality sheets. The living area provided a plush couch and chair to relax on along with full cable/satellite tv. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you would need including a stove, refrigerator, coffee maker and a 5 gallon cold and hot water dispenser. We didn't ever use the kitchen much because Siri's lovely staff prepared and served our entire breakfasts! This was a real treat! With some advance notice they can also make and serve other meals, coffee, and tea during the day if you'd like. From the living room upstairs there is a large balcony that overlooks the ricefields and when the weather is clear you can see the mountains. Perfect spot for coffee during sunrise, during the day to look out onto the fields, and at night to see the stars, listen to the frogs, and in our case we were fortunate to have a full moon.

The villa is also practical. There are outlets with adapters in spots where you'd need them to charge your electronics. A cell phone was given to us during our stay with all of the staff's contacts pre-programmed into the phone. This made it easy to get a ride with Siri's driver, make reservations, or plan other activities. Siri's staff is always a text or phone call away and one of Siri's managers is always on the grounds 24/7. Water pressure was good throughout the villa and in addition to ceiling fans there are air conditioners in the downstairs bedroom and in the upstairs living room. The villa is decorated and appointed very nicely with large windows in the bedroom overlooking the plunge pool. The plunge pool is very small but is perfect for a plunge in the morning or to cool off at the end of a hot day. There is a large window upstairs to one side overlooking the fields and on the other there are windows with sliding doors onto the balcony. There is plenty of lighting throughout the villa that is practical but also accentuates Siri's fine points. Pathway lighting outside made it easy to safely return at the night. Wifi worked fine but the router needed to be reset once each day.

Siri's staff is wonderful and attentive. One day one of the girls saw me walking out with laundry and told me I could leave it and they arranged to have our clothes washed. It was always nice returning back to the villa at the end of the day with a clean villa and lights on in the evening.

Villa Siri is perfect for singles or couples. It's location combined with luxury, comfort, and a professional staff make it a perfect spot while in Ubud. There are a few other larger villas on the grounds with two and three bedrooms. Equally as nice just larger villas. We look forward to returning to Siri next time we're in Ubud!
