The small cottage hotel is truly a hidden gem. The rooms are gorgeous, the service is fantastic and they offer complimentary tea-time snacks too. Breakfast is by the pool; simple with good and wholesome choices. But the absolute plus point of this hotel for me is the location. It's within walking distance to the nice restaurants, shops, boutiques and the Ubud Art market. Recommended if you don't really plan to rent a bike or charter private transport during your stay.

We booked into Lumbung sari for 4 nights and couldn't have been happier with our choice. It might not be a plush 5 star hotel but definitely is top of its range. On arrival, we had been booked into a twin room for two nights then a different double room for two nights. We explained it must have been a mistake with the online booking and could they give us a double room for the full four nights. Unfortunately they could only manage it for three nights but only charged us the cheaper rate for two nights.
The location is good - 5 min walk from the Palace, 8 min ealk from Monkey Forest and lots of warungs and bars around. The hotel grounds are nice with a decent size pool for the size of the hotel.
The staff are very friendly and extremely helpful. The aren't pushy in anyway when it comes to booking trips or tours. We stayed in room 86 which has a smaller bathroom than the previous room but a great shower.
We'd definitely recommend this hotel for location, staff and excellent value for money.

We stayed in a deluxe room (#89) which was on the ground floor at the back, and opened out directly to the pool. I had expected this to be of a reasonably high standard and was definitely not disappointed.
The room was just as large and comfortable as any I have experienced previously in Bali. The bed was King Size and very comfy and the air conditioning was excellent. A full range of cable tv stations(including many in English) was available for those who need it, and the free wi fi was accessible everywhere - unlike other places I have stayed where you needed to be in reception or the bar to get access. The only slight issue we had was the mobile phone access was intermittent in this location, which normally wouldn't be concern, but in this case we were trying to co-ordinate a pick up time with friends who were staying elsewhere.
Buffet breakfast was delicious, and many banana pancakes were consumed by myself and my husband.
They also provide free snacks every afternoon from 2 - 5 pm which include some Balinese treats, nuts and chips and juices. These all go well with a nice cold Bintang - which is reasonably priced by the hotel (the cost being much the same as at the convenience store just up the road).
One of biggest pluses is the location, being around a 10 minute walk from Ubud palace and the markets in one direction, and around 15 minutes walk to the Monkey Forest in the other direction.
There are plenty of restaurants and bars close by, and I can highly recommend the Vanilla Pod Restaurant a short walk down the street for dinner.
In all this is a fantastic location, and very comfortable accommodation. Being down a driveway off the street means that once inside you are in a quiet oasis, away from the hustle and hassle of the street outside.
Note that from the moment you set foot outside the gate you will be hassled to buy, and to take a taxi. If you want to be left alone just smile and say "Jalang Jalang" which means walking walking. Most times you'll get a laugh and a joke from the locals and then you'll be on your way.
Lastly, by far the standout feature of this accommodation is the staff - they are all super friendly and extra helpful, nothing is too much trouble for them and everything is done with a smile.
I would definitely recommend this to all of my friends, and would stay here again.

Room Tip: We had room #89 which was at the back of the pool and on the lower level, I think this was the best...

we stayed in a standard room. the door was beautiful and the daily ritual offerings were pleasant and interesting to watch. the breakfast buffet was limited but the food was delicious. i especially enjoyed the banana pancakes and the yellow juice.

staff were friendly, always smiling and it made me feel very welcome. it felt like home.

bathroom in the standard room was a bit run down, i think the superior rooms are of better value. but can't go wrong either way.

when walking towards the ubud market, have lunch or dinner at ibu rai, you can't miss it. food is delicious and of great value!

We stayed at the private villa which is about 10 mins out of town. Right from the get go the service was amazing!! We had a private driver, butler, two level villa overlooking rainforest, infinity pool and the list goes on. Each morning we were driven to the hotel for breakfast and if we wanted to go out in the evenings the driver waited.

A massive thanks to newman and the team for looking after us - I will be spreading the word about this little gem!!

our family spend a wonderful time in a great location close by ubud but far away from crazy hectic ubud. the owner really tries to make one feel at ease and at home . The owner really tries beyond what is expected to get the visitor accustomed to Bali. wonderful food we will be back next year !!

Room Tip: swimming pool lovely
