I heard so many good things about this homestay, and sure, the location is great. This street is the best in Ubud, in my opinion.

I was traveling with a group of friends, and we had a reservation for 4 bungalows of which I got the lowest one, right down at the river. Great privacy, but full of bugs. Even after requesting an (extra?) cleaning, I had plenty of small beagles in my bed which fell from the ceiling. Spraying the room didn't help. I can't believe that I was the only customer who had this problem, and I don't understand why nothing was done to resolve it.

The next day, the cleaning of the room was just forgotten. And after the cleaning, the bugs behind the bed were so many that I had to call the staff again.

The bathroom was big, but no way to place my utensils because there was nether a board nor a hook for the towels. The mirror was also screwed off as I could see from the remaining screws.

There's a nice little swimming pool, but unfortunately, no place to stay in the shade, so I couldn't use it.

Breakfast was frugal like anywhere in Bali, but the staff was very nice and helpful.

Internet didn't work in my room, so I had to stay in the restaurant area to use it.

Despite of my complaints I liked the place, and may go back to it if I go back to Bali.

Gusti's is pretty with reasonable rooms. But they are lacking in some seemingly small things that can make your stay 'good' as opposed to the average I experienced. The manager was nice and friendly but unfortunately, not reachable often enough. The owners - the Gusti family were often in view but aloof. I dont think I saw Mr Gusti ever smileor say hello. The sheets were thin and old. The room could be cleaned each day if you asked but you felt a bit like it was an imposition because it wasnt the norm. The towels weren't changed even if the room was cleaned. Knowing that the room was not regularly cleaned until the guests vacated made the room feel a bit grimy because you knew it was only ever cleaned periodically. Its a pity about these things. If the Gusti family were more friendly (a homestay is supposed to be about some kind of relationship with the family who owns the place) and the place was routinely cleaned, with better sheets then this would lift this nice homestay up to a good level.

This is a fantastic little place. I am really glad i stayed, I have stayed in Ubud several times over 30 yrs of travelling and based my decision to try Gustis on the reviews i read on Trip Advisor. I usually try to pay less than $20 per night, so at $25 per night this was expensive for me...
The photos don't do it justice really. It is lush - it is tranquil - it is worth the money and it has a small and very cold pool which is great on the scorching hot afternoons.
Typical traditional balinese 2 star accommodation, so if you want 5star this is not for you. Breakfast is basic balinese fare, and that's adequate too. Remember you do have to ask to have your room serviced - so don't assume it will be done.

Rooms are spacious , fans only but in the coolness of Ubud that is adequate, good hot water shower. The rooms are sited down a small ravine and overlook or are amongst a lovely garden.
This is a truly lovely little place that is a haven from the madness of down town Ubud, and a very short walk from it all. But seriously you hardly need to leave Jalan Kajeng!!
Do try Savannah Moon cafe opposite Gustis and down towards town about 4-5 shops...Its great food, and really worth a visit.

We love the quiet location of these Bungalows , walking distance to all in Ubud but with out the hustle and bustle of tourism as you step onto the street . Bungalows are set in a tropical garden on the edge of the ravine , the gentle running water is the only sound. It is a family owned and run hotel . It is simple and budget friendly if you want swimming pool. Clean and adequate.
Food in the Gusti restaurant is really good and cheap. Breakfast is the usual simple fruit and pancake..
We really enjoyed the tranquility of Gusti Bungalows.

Room Tip: Ask for the rooms with view to the ravine , upstairs rooms have more natural lights

We stayed 6 nights and staff were very friendly to us. Breakfast was small but nice - fresh fruit, pancake or waffle or toast and a black balinese coffee. Room initially clean but not serviced or cleaned during our stay. The pool was lovely on hot Ubud afternoons. Location is nice, up a side street so away from the traffic and noise of Ubud and close to scenic rice paddies; yet just a short walk into town. Bed a bit creaky and walls quite thin. The in-house restaurant was tasty.

Located is a nice side street, so very quiet. It takes around 10 minutes by foot to reach Ubud market.
