“Peaceful and total relaxation !”

This hotel was recommended by our Bali driver and we decided to book it after reading some many good reviews from the Tripadvisor. We booked the rooms 6 months in advance. We stayed at both Bale Bunga (double room upstairs) and Bale Sukat (upstairs room 201) for two nights each as Bale Sukat was not available for all the 4 nights when we were in Ubud. The staff were quick in responding all my emails. Extra beds were already set when we check-in. Cold lemon grass drinks were served in our rooms after we check-in. Both Bale Bunga and Bale Sukat rooms including the balconies were very clean. The beds were very comfortable. Breakfast were healthy with a few selections. The setting of this hotel is beautiful and peaceful. This hotel sits right at a padi field and you get to see farmers working on the field in the morning. The pool is quiet and is a salt water pool. We really enjoyed our four nights in Green Field Hotel.

Room Tip: Bale Sukat room 201 is upstairs facing the padi field. Big balcony with comfortable chairs and tabl...

Green Field is a wonderful place to stay in Ubud. It's beautiful, spacious, quiet, with gorgeous rice fields in view. The rooms are beautiful, tastefully decorated and very comfortable. The pool is blissful and is a salt water pool. The staff are so lovely, kind, welcoming and intelligent. My favorite place to stay in Ubud.

We chose this hotel based on Tripadvisor reviews and I am so glad we did.

I stayed 4 nights in Bale Sukat Bali (upstairs room 201) and then because I wanted more time in Ubud I stayed 2 nights in Semampai (upstairs room 501) as it was their only available room.

The setting of this hotel is fantastic. Just a very short wander to monkey forest, shops and restaurants, and yet set well back from the main road and surrounded by rice paddies. Both of my rooms had spectacular views.

Room 201 had a gorgeous traditional feel and really beautiful carved wooden furniture (would love the setting in my own room!). The room was clean and air con worked well. The balcony was a lovely place to chill.

Room 501 was over the top wonderful. More modern than the older rooms, but just huge, clean, bright, and with two glass walls to give more incredible rice paddy views. The large balcony also gave a great place to sit and drink in the peace.

We were very lucky to be there at the end of harvest so that the rice fields were full of ducks. They really added to the experience. :-)

The staff were always friendly and helpful and happy to drop us off locally free of change any time we wanted. I also took advantage of their driving service for longer distances and loved chatting with them about their lives and finding out more about their culture.

The breakfast was good. The other snacks and meals we had were of not as high a standard but that really is my only complaint.

The rooms don't have wifi but 201 was close enough to the lobby to get it in a patchy way, and it was fine near pool or in lobby.

The pool was lovely and never noisy or crowded. I loved draping myself over the infinity end and just watching the ducks puddling around and wandering between paddies.

There were no mosquitoes that I noticed. There were geckos everywhere which was cute, and there were also a couple of squirrels in the palms that were very hard to get photos of. The surrounding gardens and lily pools were all well maintained and beautiful.

The restaurants near by were cheap and of very high standard, and there are ATMs and a large supermarket less than a five minute walk away.

I could not recommend Green Field more highly and will be going back as soon as I can.

Room Tip: I would recommend room 201 most highly but if you want something a bit fancier, go for 501. Also, I...

This is my idea of a perfect holiday.Lovely simple rooms, great balcony overlooking the rice fields filled with indian runner ducks.Could have sat by the pool all day just watching the world go by.
beautifully quiet,and even better......no kids.
Staff were lovely and friendly, hotel close to shops and great places to eat.Sadly we only had 4 nights, but i would definately spend a week here next time.Non touristy and a great location. The delicious onion restaurant at the front of the hotel was fabulous, great atmosphere and we had an awesome night there singing with the owner and another guy.We were terrible, but gee we had fun!

Room Tip: any rooms overlooking rice paddies

We stayed at Green Fields (the top range of bungalows that they offer) for 6 days in October 2013 and absoloutely loved it. We had a huge balcony overlooking the rice paddies – which provided the most spectacular backdrop – both day and night. The hotel offers free room service so we had breakfast on our balcony each morning (the breakfast was good but the lunch and dinner menu could be better – but does the job if you just want a quick bite to see you through if you're planning on exploring some of the great local restaurants later). They also offer full body massages in your room for a very reasonable price (about $20 AUD for an hour).

As well as the spectacular tranquil setting and cleanliness, it's the staff that makes this place. They are genuine people. None of this 'cookie cutter' no personality business – they are genuine people from surrounding villages, with natural talent and warm hearts. No hotel can guarantee that every single second of your holiday is going to be perfect but in the hands of Green Field they'll certainly go out of their way to ensure you have a blissful time in Ubud.

We stayed here for a couple of nights, but wish it could have been longer. The room we had was quite large, with a good bathroom. The special bit was the Patio area, which we were reluctant to leave, it was bliss just sitting in the morning with a coffee, watching the slow pace of the rice farmers, at work. We came away from here nicely chilled out. The Pool was great, though didnt have time to try it.
As has been already mentioned, the Monkey Forest is a short walk away, and is worth a look, though watch out for BIG holes in the pavement, you could disappear forever down some of them.

The staff were helpful and friendly and the food is OK

The room was very clean and the hotel is really nice (the swimming-pool in front of the rice fields is such a beautiful and peaceful experience !). We have found the staff friendly and always professional. Breakfast is nothing special but good, quick and efficient.
The location is ideal, close to the Monkey Forest and 10mn by scooter from Ubud Palace.
Trust me you can't be disappointed with that place !
