Ubud Inn is on a primary location in the centre of Ubud, a few minutes from the Monkey Forest and many shops. The rooms are a bit spartan, big and big bathroom, but not much character. Prices are high for what you get. Swimming pool is nice, but in one does not spent much time there anyway.
The unattractive part was the constant hasseling from the staff, the moment you walk out of your room they want to know what you are doing, were you are going if you have a ticket, if they can sell a ticket. It is a non-stop hassle.
My advice is to put your luggage down and walk around. There are some amazing places in Ubud for much less, homestays and nice newly renovated with aircon rooms with view over the ricepaddies.
Across from Ubud Inn is another small hotel, much cheaper but just as good.
All in all , Ubud is great...Enjoy.

Room Tip: Put your luggage down and wander around.

Great location, but that is all that is positive. The rooms are quite dirty, dont look at the mattresses, you will run!
Breakfast is quite nice, but the staff constantly tries to sell you trips or taxi rides. Dont take any, we did... We ended up being transported in a 15 year old run down pick up, for the same price as a modern apv down the road.

This hotel has a very nice location and the staff are friendly but the room which was a superior one was dirty, the toilet and shower was really bad and there is nothing provided like, soap, shampoo or any other amenities that is expected from this kind of place and the money you pay. At night there was a wrestling match going on in the ceiling which scared the hell out of me and I couldn't tell what it was. It was very loud and scary and if felt like it was going to jump on my bed at any moment though it didn't but it did keep me awake all night.

I decided to find accommodation nearby and there are plenty and after checking some half a doze places I settled down for one which was much better and 30% cheaper.

And the massage was expensive like twice the price of other places.

Ubud and its lovely people have a certain charm and this Inn displays the same qualities. We had an a/c room near the pool. The rooms might be just a little tired but they are kept clean and tidy, the staff are so friendly and the owner pitches in every day...how often do you see that? The food service is good - for variety there are other good restaurants nearby. We'll be back. Oh, and it's very suitable for young families.

This is one of the recommended hotels in the Lonely Planet and I can see why...the rooms aren't by any means luxurious, but it has a real friendliness and charm about it, and is very affordable given it's prime location a short walk from Monkey Forest.

The room had seen better days, and the doors were locked by putting a padlock through two rings so they didn't fully close. You can store your valuables in a safe at reception though. But it was spacious, clean enough and the 4 poster bed was incredibly comfortable; our room had a bath, shower and hot water. The staff were very chatty and friendly, and eating breakfast by the pool watching the hotel bat hanging by a nearby tree eating mango was lovely. It has a lush garden area and decent sized pool. I would caution though that there's a photo on this website of a very modern designed room that bore no relation to ours, so there's probably quite a lot of variation depending on which room you get.

It's right in the centre of Ubud with lots to do. Loads of great shops, restaurants and bars on your doorstep, and Monkey Forest itself is a short walk. It has a bar with free wifi. If you want luxury, this may not be for you....but it's a nice budget hotel in a great location, and the staff were great.
