Great rooms with an even better price ! The only downfall of saren indah is that it's next to monkey forest which is the only way on foot to ubud center (shopping)-which is fine with me but my girlfriend wasn't a big fan of walking through, that aside it's a lovely place and I would return.

I love this hotel!!!
This hotel are suitable for honeymoon couple:
(1)the rooms is nice and good and beautiful
(2)the staff in the hotel is nice and helpful
(3)the breakfast is delicious especially the fried noddles but I think their management need to do some changes for the menu.

The bad things for this hotel is nearby monkey forest, this is very dangerous when you wan walk to the Ubud town you must walk through the monkey forest. The monkeys there are fierce and will come in to the restaurant and stolen the bread when we having the breakfast.

But the final conclusion is this hotel is valuable and nice hotel.

Hotel was wonderful. However there are a few things that bear mentioning:
1. The staff is not fluent in English. We ran into a number of miscommunications during our stay. Fluency makes all the difference in the world when visiting a foreign country.
2. The Monkey forest is a DANGEROUS place. We met one foreign national at the Balanese dance show that was bitten the day before (rabies shot $140), and I was attacked with no bites. BE VERY CAREFUL in the forest.
3. We seemed to get consistant bad info on recommendations from the front desk staff. The Balanese Dance that they recommended was bad. It was held in a dump, started 15 minutes late, ended early and was pricier than they said it would be. The restaurants recommended were the priciest in town. There were others we found to be much better and cheaper.
4. The breakfast was mediocure at best.
5. Not the hotels fault, but the view of the rice paddy's from the balcony was not there. The fields are being left fallow for now.

The rest of the comments are appropriate and we would definitely stay there again.

Regards,
Bob Morrison

This place was heaven for us, a couple of backpackers tired of expensive dorms. It is affordable for budget travellers and backpackers, the service is perfect, rooms are spacious, with a big bed, tv and DVD player, very clean, they provide towels, hair dryer, two bottles of water a day, shampoo, soap...
The staff was very friendly, even though some didnt speak very good english (Ragu speaks very well), they always sorted everything for us.
Its a bit outside town (you can walk but it can be dangerous at night) so just ask for the free shuttle, they ll take you everywhere and pick you up.
Good breakfast, with Indonesian and western options, fresh juice. Fruit, bread, eggs, potatoes in buffet.
Good but expensive restaurant and tours available.
The gardens and swimming pool are really relaxing.

We stayed at Saren Indah and we will return. Very peaceful lovely place. The staff are very friendly and extremely helpful. The rooms are big and very clean. The staff are wanderful they do little things to make you feel at home such as they will put the lights out for you at night if you are out so when you return at your room you can see where to put the key, they will close the curtains in your room late evening they will rearrange your bed few times a day. I think once you leave room they come and tidy everything. Clean towels every day. Breakfast is very good. The staff will ask you how you like your eggs and thy make it perfect.
There are monkey everywhere as the place is close to the monkey forest. The locals are lovely the stair ants in town are so good. And do not miss the dinner next door ;) we will return to this heavenly place.

It was perfect. The food was absolutely excellent. Rooms, bed, everything perfect.
The staff so professional and friendly. We had a problem one night with people above us being very noisy and I contacted front desk and they were gone the next day. I couldnt say anything negative about the experience at this hotel. They booked us into a cooking class also and my husband and I had an absolute ball cooking and learning and relaxing and pigging out at the end of it. They were also very professional picking us up at the hotel and dropping us off at the end of it. Loved my stay from beginning to end.

My husband and I stayed at Saren Indah for 4 nights at the end of January. We took the 3 night package with an extra night in the Superior View room. I have to say that from the moment we arrived until we left we were very happy with both the hotel and the staff.
The bed was huge, a real King size, 4 poster with mosquito net around it. Very romantic! The room itself wasn't too big, but we didn't need much room and there is a large balcony to when you just want to relax. The hotel provides a mosquito coil each day for the balcony, but we brought a few extra as we sat out there a bit. Our balcony did look over rice fields, but there were a few trees in the way. The bathroom was very big as well. I think the only problem I had the whole time was the shower - it does the job, but isn't the best. The rose was a bit low on the wall for my husband and myself, so it was a little bit awkward to shower. Other than that, it was fine.
The things that set this hotel apart is the beauty of the hotel, the staff (who were all wonderful) and the food at the restaurant. The deal we had included breakfast each morning and 3 x set menu for lunch or dinner. I think the staff got bored with us when we ordered nasi goreng every day, but it was so delicious. The other meals were very nice, included the usual (more nasi goreng, sate).
The grounds aren't huge, but then it is a smaller boutique hotel and had all the amenties you need - pool, restaurant, bar and shuttle bus into Ubud.
You can walk through Monkey Forest to get into Ubud, through the park itself (which costs about 20,000rp) or just walk on the path to the right of the entrance. The hotel staff will advice about this. It takes about 10-15 minutes and you come out of the bottom of Jl Monkey Forest. To get to the market and the centre of town you have to walk uphill. Nothing major, just can get a bit much on a hot and sticky day!
Overall, we loved our stay at Saren Indah and will be very happy to return there at some stage in the near future. We have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to friends and family.

Room Tip: Definitely go for a 'View' room for the upstairs rooms.
