Saren Indah hotel is located in a nice quiet environment, close to the money forest. And with 15/20 min walk you are in the center of Ubud. The staff is VERY service minded and completed hour wonderful stay at the hotel very much. Everyone is busy with the right things! Pleasing the visitors, cleaning the whole hotel area, alway a nice greating. Very pleasant! Next to that offers the hotel the possibility to hire moterbikes, what makes it nice to travel a day together with other Indonesian inhabitants. Good quality for the price. Great compliments to the hotel staff from hour group of 4 couples!

I have to rate poor because the guy ( Sih Sugita ) from receptionist treat us with double standard service. Really spoilt our holiday.
Plus on second night the shutter didnt pick us up which the schedule stated every 2 hours. I have to call the hotel and waited 45 minute for driver to arrive.
The end room kinda creepy. Heard noises inside the room near the cabinet.
Really cant wait to check out the next day.

The other staff are very friendly and the room is clean.
Breakfast are very limited.

Room Tip: The end room has nice view but creepy.

We visited Ubud over the Christmas holiday and we stayed at the Saren Indah Hotel for three nights. The rooms were very comfortable and the view from our second floor outdoor sitting area gave us a chance to see farmers preparing rice fields. Graceful birds abound, and an occasional monkey can be seen. The pool is clean and refreshing, and a nice place to rest after walking the market streets. A great deal of care is put into breakfast food preparations, and the outdoor covered morning room is lovely! Do look around, for you will see monkeys! They know when it is breakfast time, and so the staff stays very alert to discourage them from coming too near. This is because Saren Indah is very close to Monkey Forest, a beautiful jungle preserve where monkeys can be watched (and fed if you wish) as you stroll into the commercial area streets of Ubud to visit the market and many art shops. The monkeys are very accustomed to visiting humans, and we're amazingly well behaved! We will certainly stay at the Saren Indah on our next visit to Bali.

We were in Bali in the 70s and were very apprehensive about coming back after such lovely memories. Finally decided to come and wanted to fly straight to Ubud. We stayed there with another couple for 5 days in mid April 2013 and enjoyed each and everyday in our deluxe rooms upstairs. From the smiling face of the driver at the airport pick-up and then the welcoming faces and refreshing juice when we arrive. The decoration on the bed ie the folded swan towels are really sweet. Some might find it "kitschy" but it is how you view it - it is the care that they take in folding it and this was an example on how they look after their guests with such care. Although it is not a 5 star hotel, it is the service, the staff and the owners which make it a 5 star hotel. We have travelled extensively and have stayed at various 5 star hotel and the service here is equivalent to a Club lounge at the Hyatt , Hilton etc. The breakfast was great - fresh fruits and enough choices. We also got the 3 day package (a choice of 3 meals either lunch or dinner) and was glad to have that when we were too tired to go to town after a full day's outing or have a sleep in and leisure lunch and then go to town for a show and dinner. The free shuttle was always ready when we wanted to go to town and they even took us to the Botanic Gardens and came and pick us up when we could not get a taxi - it was out of the way from town. We came home one night and was drinking at the bar , when the lights went out , all the staff came out carrying an amazing birthday cake (I had forgotten that I mentioned it to them when we did our booking 3 months ago) and sang "happy Birthday". When we got to our room, the bed and the abth-tub was scattered with rose petals. This is not just special treatment for us but our friends - first time in Bali and also every guest that we spoke to also agreed on the 5 star personal service. If you want a quiet haven , away from the madding crowd with the best relaxing and caring service, come to Saren Indah. It is not suitable if you wish to be near the party crowd or all day and night entertainment. Thank you Kadek, Wayan, Nyoman and each and everyone of you including the trainees at Saren Indah for a memorable, romantic and precious time in Ubud.

Room Tip: Rooms upstairs -deluxe or super deluxe.

I stayed at this hotel a few years ago, and I'm pleased to say it's still a great, small, family run hotel. The addition of the restaurant is fantastic, and I received the same great service from staff. Complimentary drop off and pick up service is great.

Yes, it's not a five-star property, but this low-key resort south of the Monkey Forest is hands down one of the best places I have ever stayed in. The location is perfect if you like to live far enough from the crowds, but close enough that you can reach the shops and noise of Ubud, which is around 10 minutes away, through a lovely path that winds its way through the side of Monkey Forest, through streams and gorges (careful, bring a torch at night, and make way for the passing motorcycles), lush foliage, and of course, running monkeys! It's in the quiet village of Nyuh Kuning, with lovely workshops, one of which is just across from the hotel entrance - you can get exquisitely-painted puppets!

The hotel itself is not ornately done, with simple, organic and lovely touches of Balinese decor, and small ponds and quiet trickling fountains with lotuses in bloom. Of course, there is the requisite plot of rice fields within the property. There's a small pool where you can dip in, and lounge around. The place is peaceful, and the rooms laid out in rows of two-story houses. We got one on the second floor of the first house from the lobby. The room is simple, but I appreciated the greeting written in gold ink on a leaf. There's a large balcony, and the windows are large, letting in a lot of sunlight. From here, you can see the roofs of the other houses and inns in the area, as well as lots of frangipani and bougainvillea trees. Love the bathroom - it's large, simply laid-out, but it has a nice tub that faces yet another large window that looks out to the rice fields. Ah, bliss!

Check-in is quick and friendly, and the staff all greet you with smiles. We tried the restaurant, and the food was superb. Again, simplicity rules, the execution is clean, and dining in the evening, in their open-air pavilion, with candles on the tables, and torches illuminating the gardens and the rice fields added to the allure of our stay.

Hats off to the management, Ady and Ary Saren. Service is top-notch and personal. I've been to Bali many times, and have stayed in many hotels, some of them luxury, but this is definitely the loveliest place I've stayed in, and for the price, it's the best deal ever! Will come back. Thanks for the Christmas e-card!

Room Tip: All rooms are lovely, but I recommend getting one on the second floor.
