I heard about this hotel the first time from a celebgram when she posted the room she stayed in, with big half-circle glass window overlooking the city. So I decided to give it a try, not the big room, though.
We arrived at 1 pm, and got our room immediately. Nice. Too bad the lobby was dirty with rubbish from guests sitting there (rubbish from food & drink). The hotel seemed lack of staff to maintain the cleanliness of the lobby.
The room was okay. But the balcony door was locked by the hotel. The porter promised to send someone to unlock the door, but no one came. I heard you can't turn on the aircon if the balcony door is opened. But I don't know if it's true.
The bathroom's door has no lock. The shower cabin has no door/curtain, and the glass wall only covered half of the shower cabin, so be prepared to have the floor all wet. There were 2 shower heads; but only 1 works. The big round shower head mounted to the ceiling didn't work. the small round table in the room seemed worn out, I kind of expected more from a 4* hotel.
The big glass window next to the elevator in our floor (6th fl.) is a beauty. I love it. The view overlooking the city is great. My room has the same view: Pasupati Bridge. Pretty at night as the lights are changing.
The breakfast restaurant, Life Green Restaurant, is located on 3rd floor. The food? In my opinion: Delicious. I tried almost all of the food (which has never happened before), and love 'em all. They should have more than one egg station because the queue was long. I sat on the balcony area overlooking Pasupati Bridge. Great view, but a bit far from the buffet table and the waitress come very seldom to get dirty plates. The swimming pool is located next to the restaurant. If you sit by the pool, watch out because you could get wet. There are 2 pool, a kiddie pool and deep pool (1,4M).
The access to Ciwalk Mall is right next to the lobby. This is a plus point because we don't have to go far or even by car to go shopping. They have pretty much everything at Ciwalk. So many restaurants, XXI movie theaters, department stores, supermarket. And it's an open-door concept mall like Paris van Java, so it's actually pretty at night, if only not so many people came there. But it's a time-saving since Cihampelas Street is a street with never-ending traffic jam.
Overall, the hotel is okay. Not as extravagant as people were talking about, but okay lah... :)
