“Excellent Tours”
Reviewed 23 April 2014

Enjoyed the tour, especially that of the workshop where we got to learn how batik was made, the different processes and what's involved for each of them.

“Beautiful batik displays ”
Reviewed 22 April 2014 via mobile

This is an excellent place to come and see batik being made (in the factory out the back - which is really hot and stuffy!) plus displays of historic and modern batik in different styles and techniques.

The English speaking guide was excellent, explaining the different methods of batik making (hand made, stamped and printed) and providing info about the owner of the factory and museum and his family.

Thank Kelly M

“"Batik is an Art and Soul of Indonesians"”
Reviewed 8 April 2014

"Batik is an Art and Soul of Indonesians" was compelling and unforgettable line by our knowledgeable guide Ghea upon touring us around the Museum Batik Danar Hadi. The tour started about timelines of Batik particularly in Solo (Surakarta) and it's sister city Yogyakarta. Every bit of information shared by our guide was truly remarkable. We learned the importance of Batik in Indonesia Culture and History. Got chance as well how Batik is made from scratch until quality control part.

An hour visit of the Museum was all worth it. We left the museum with smile on our face and surely changes our perception and appreciate Batik more. We highly recommend visiting this museum, and if possible request for Ghea, very warm and friendly guide.
