Unobtrusive luxury in the middle of sea and lush green tropical rainforests, it was simply divine! The staff were more than willing to serve and quick to retreat to give u the sense of privacy.. Considering that there is no air fare involved the 2 day retreat from Singapore was just awesome

I went with my wife for our 10th anniversary, we spent 4 nights in a sea front villa, with all objectivity the hotel is wonderful, staff is extra helpful and cheerful, they respond instantly to any request, the beach is the main highlight , pools are wonderful too and restaurants are ok. The main drawback is the huge number of lizards all over the walls, and the worst thing is the bats ....yes bats are hanging over the ceiling of the outside deck to the extent that we were scared to use the villa relaxation pool and we ended up paying $600 a night for a room that we have never enjoyed ,,,,,it was a relief that we were out most of the day. If you are a night person be aware that life stops once the sun set , you have nothing to do but eating out in one of the 3 restaurants or go for a massage ....after seeing Angsana hotel, next to Banyan and knowing it is a sister hotel ( shared facilities ) I would highly recommend staying over in Angsana and just try one of banyan restaurants one day. Angsana is almost 40% cheaper and bats free er

Dear A Trip Advisor Member,

I am delighted to read that you enjoyed your stay in Banyan Tree Bintan. As you rightly have pointed out, our unique setting in the jungle is also our biggest challenge. We are addressing the bat issue at the moment without harming the animals and disturbing the natural environment.
I am truly sorry that this has affected your experience and am disappointed that we have failed to move you into villa which is not exposed to the fruit bats.

It is my hope to be able to welcome you personally back in either Angsana Bintan Hotel or in our Banyan Tree Bintan Villas.

Sincerely,

Stefan Thumiger

Banyan Tree properties never our expectation but this one totally has turned us down.

The rubbish bin is not cleared even after the house keeping went in. Besides, the bath towels were taken away and not replaced.

Another night here to spend over a night, I wish some peace of mind will be provided.

Short journey from Singapore. Excellent pick up and reception. Stayed in Seasview villa with private infinity pool and 2 separate rooms. Personalised service from villa host. Overall impressive team of staff who are friendly and helpful. Food is good. Pricey but nevertheless a good weekend staycation with all the convenience.

It is always exceptional to have your own bungalow with a private jacuzzi on a big terrace, on a cliff overlooking a crystal clear sea, white sandy beach and palm trees. What can ask you more? It was just a dream come true. Banyan tree, please come to Europe! I had to chance to benefit of a good package with a decent price, otherwise the place is quite expensive, but quality as such as a value...

Overall a very expensive hotel for the level and quality of its facilities. Out first time at a Banyan Tree and this did not match out expectations.
Rooms are niceish but old and food is average and faculties getting old.
I guess for half the price it would have been good but at $700 a night a definite disappointment.

We travelled from Singapore to Bintan during the kids school break, and stayed for two nights in a sea view villa. The room was very spacious, and the hotel provided an extra bed, which was wide enough to accomodate two children very comfortably. The villa had a small wading pool, which didnt look to be very clean, but they cleaned it up promptly and we realised later that being outside, leaves etc. kept falling in all the time. Be prepared to have some ants/bugs in the room though. You are in a tropical zone. The beach itself is quite nice, though it had a fair amount of seaweed the first day. Food is expensive ! Clearly caters to the well heeled Singapore crowd. All prices are in USD, so carry USD cash to avoid getting hit multiple times on currency exchange rates if paying by credit card. Finally, must make a mention of the staff. They are unfailingly smiling and helpful.

The resort's Jacuzzi villas have jacuzzis built into their sun decks whilst the two-bedroom pool villas have their own plunge or swimming pools and are particularly suitable for families. Culinary variety is the name of the game with "Crossroads" offering Western cuisine in an air-conditioned or al fresco setting while the Saffron Restaurant serves Thai and South East Asian specialties. You can also dine in your own villa - simply order from the a la carte menu or make a selection from the BBQ dinners cooked in front of your eyes.
