I stayed here from 8May2013 to 10Mat2013 ,I booked sea view family suite ,this hotel is 1 hour journey from BBT Terminal ,Below is what I faced -

Hotel send taxi at right time and journey was comfortable from BBT to hotel,Reception was nice and keys delivered to us ,Room was at 3rd floor with no lift and with a 8 month kid and 60 year aged Mother it was difficult to go .We managed and entered in room ,Room was big and comfortable ,I stayed there for 3-4 hours and decided to shift on another at ground floor ,this was Family Vila and upgrade was done with some money not too much .
Here nightmare starts ,Tap water in Bathroom comes till 12 midnight and then no water .We wake early so that visit some places but there was no water in Bathroom ,I tried to contact staff but to my surprise only Guard was available which has no idea of room supply .After 8 am I went to reception and one person comes and tried to repair...this cycle goes till 11 and ends when I said either you guys fixed or I need to go .Finally it was fixed but with little kid and Aged Mother I already faced alot..In short whole plan was ruined.
After this not any real problem but whole one day wasted ,here are key points for this place-
-Sea is muddy and coreal means it will go back about 1 km and then come back.
-Staff is ok but there is no person to help you after 12 pm.
-Lizards are present in Room.
-Food is normal
-Nothing for Sea sport
-Lack in Basic amenities .

I write Lack in Basic amenities as I stayed in without water IN Bathroom for more than 12 hours.
This was atleast not expected by me as Istayed in Various Hotels in Various countries but till now I havn't faced this type of problem.

Overall Experience was not good .

Hi, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We greately regret the problem you faced during your trip.

What happened was that the water pump for the seaview family villa (that you stayed in) malfunctioned that night, and hence there was a period where there was no water in your room. We apologise for the unfortunate occurance, and that we would only get the technician to fix it in the morning. As the security guard on duty that night was new, he failed to report your case to our resident manager who lives in the resort. On a usual basis, the resident manager would look into any problems faced during the night. We deeply apologise for this lapse in communication.

Once again, we apologise for the issues you faced during your stay, and thank you for sharing your feedback.

We stayed in an ocean villa suite and were quite happy with our two night getaway here. It's kid free (definitely not a family type place) so was very relaxing and quiet. The food at the hotel is pretty good but not spectacular, they also don't sell any alcohol except beer. The food at the sister resort Argo just down the road is quite nice and they also sell cocktails. There is a shuttle to Argo every few hours but the walk is only ten mins. There is also a store at Argo if you want to stock up on supplies. I would stay at Spa Villa again based on the relaxing and quiet advantage. Note that if you want your room serviced you need to leave a "please clean my room card" on your door - unfortunately we weren't told about this and missed out. Other than this, we were very happy with the room - it was spacious, had a great shower and having our hut over the water was magical.

Great place, very quiet and serene, with only limited number of rooms but low vacancy, which is ideal for me and my good friend, who were looking to just have a shortgetaway from singapore. We didnt opt to go for any trips to town, but stayed in the hotel premises for the whole 2d1n. You get to have afternoon beer with the serene sea-view, watch the 5.30am morning sunrise, and even venture out to an ultimately mini rocky island about a mile away when the tide is low. However, there is no beach, only possibly a small sandfilled area at the side of the hotel, so anyone looking for a beach may not like this. However you can suntan on the benches placed out under the sun in front of the beach.
Also, there is no room service, but they might make some adjustments as long as you ask. The food is alright, Asian Food is most recommended. Their customer service is reasonably good, especially this lady, called "Atia". However, there are some roomservice/maintenance male staff that may be a nuisance especially to lady guests, so ladies, please watch out for such staff, although i dont know if they are still working over there.

Do note that they also do not have a swimming pool nor a fitness room, one may have to go to the sister hotel Agro Resort to enjoy such premises. Also the same for Seafood meals.

Room Tip: Royal or Ocean suites are more worth it as the room is directly above the waters

We travelled to this so-called resort with my brother's family (see previous review as he says it all).
we were looking forward to spending the weekend together as we only get to see eachother once a year. you can understand our disappointment as we saw our reunion fall into pieces upon arrival:
smelly rooms, ants all over the place, muddy 'beach', just ankle deep water, so no chance of swimming (no pool either), no elevator, busy road, one hour bumpy ride from the very, nothing to do or eat in the area, just one BIG disappointment. We paid 350 sgd for a family room for two nights and had to book to double's (435 sgd) because there were no family rooms available according to agoda.com. as we were the only guests in the hotel we could get a family room, but no refund for the extra money paid. We were glad to get away from this place and won't make the same mistake twice: we'll rather pay a bit more for a decent resort next time.

We were supposed to stay at this "resort" for a weekend (3D2N) together with my sister and her family. We decided within 2 hours of arriving that we would cut the trip short and take the next ferry home the following morning...

Upon arrival at the resort (after an hour long bus ride) we were welcomed by very friendly staff fronting a sad and dated place in the absolute middle of nowhere. I don't really get the other reviews on this place but to me and my family this place just looked plain sad. The resort is squeezed between the road and the sea: there isn't that much traffic but the traffic there is tends to be a bit load and noticeable in the room (small motorbikes with very loud exhausts).

The resort doesn't really have any facilities other then the Spa (we didn't use it), a scorched grass patch and a cafe/restaurant. Even the sea was a disappointment. Throughout most part of the day the water is ankle deep (literally) > not really suited to take a swim. It is mostly a mud beach with a tiny strip of sand. So when traveling with kids there: you'll be stuck there with nothing much for them to do but run around in the dirty muddy sea/beach.

The "sea view family room" we booked was reasonably clean when we walked into it; decent size for us and our four kids. It was however located in a sad looking concrete block on the 2nd floor (no easy access with strollers...). The bathroom was basic and not really clean and after a couple of hours infested with ants everywhere ("ant in your toothbrush, anyone?"). The TV in the room is a joke: the TV itself works and it fairly new but no proper channels and all of them in very poor quality. The aircon worked okay, fridge worked. The beds are okay and the room comes with a decent sized balcony overlooking this sad place.

We had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant. The menu is a so-so mix of everything: some local dishes, some western dishes and some asian dishes: nothing special or specific to this resort. The food was reasonably okay and not to badly priced (not cheap either). Breakfast is served in 3 options (no buffet): eggs with sandwich, eggs with bread roll or asian (rice) breakfast. Again, nothing special just "good enough".

The staff is very friendly and helpful albeit a bit slow... When we announced our intention to leave this place as soon as we could get away, they offered us to bring us to their other resort (Agro beach) that is nearby. We would have to pay another SGD 20 per head extra per night. We quickly checked the Agro resort online (using the free WiFi at the hotel) and decided it wasn't worth our effort and money to change to that place. For us the disappointment was such that we decided to cut our losses and just head back home.

Overall: we think this place is completely overpriced and you can't really call this a resort in our humble opinion. It would be a okay as low-end budget hotel but we didn't pay budget hotel prices... There is nothing to do in the "resort" itself our in the direct vicinity. Not suited for families with kids: plenty of other choices on Bintan.

Hi Patrick
Thanks for your review, we greatly appreciate the feedback. We are sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations and that you did not enjoy yourself.

Our small resort was meant to be for peaceful retreats from the hustle and bustle of city life, for guests to relax and recharge, hence the small number of activities available, as displayed on our Agoda page and our website. We have just recently added kayak boats, as well as a huge outdoor spa pool, and will look into continually add more activities for guests to enjoy. As for the state of your room, we deeply apologize for the ant problem you encountered. We will look into it and ensure it is an isolated incident. As for the issues with your television, we will also check for problems in that individual tv's settings and fix it.

Once again, we deeply apologize for the unpleasant experience, and will take your feedback to action.
