“Great diving, friendly staff, clean rooms, food average”
Reviewed 27 February 2014

We stayed for one week at this resort and our main reason was scuba diving. We were not disappointed. The dive sites on Bunaken Island are amazing, good visibility, colourful corals and lots of marine life.
The resort offers comfortable accommocation in a very nice setting. The rooms were clean and the staff friendly however sometimes needed to be reminded about little things, e.g. replenish coffee and tea in the rooms etc.
Food was ok but not great and there is definitely room for improvement.

The resort is very pretty, surrounded by forest, it is on the sea front with a river running through the middle. The resort has a lovely pool looking out over the sea.
We stayed in a garden facing room which was spacious and airconditioned. There were plenty of added extras in the room such as slippers, mosquito repellant, toothbrush and toothpaste. The bathroom is interestingly designed with a part of the ceiling missing above the shower to make you feel that you are amongst the surrounding vegetation. The downside of this design is that it does not help the battle of trying to keep mosquitos out of the room.
The restaurant offers a 4 course meal: two starters, a main and then dessert of ice cream or fruit. The quality of food varied considerably. Attempts at Western style food were poor so I advise sticking to Asian food is possible, which was most often a fish dish. The food was not always hot and the meal felt rushed as there was no break in-between courses. Both my husband and I suffered upset stomachs which whilst we can't say for sure, we put down to the food. We had already spent a week at another resort with no stomach problems.
Be aware that alcohol in Indonesia is expensive. A bottle of wine at this hotel is 35 Euros plus 21% tax! A large Bintang is 4 Euros plus tax. Not the cheapest.
We were very unlcuky with the weather which severley limited the diving; we therefore made use of the Spa. The treatments were excellent.
All the staff were very friendly and did all they could to make our stay a pleasant one.

Tropical Paradise and only 1 hour from the Airport. On arrival , we were warmly greeted by the local staffs, whom proved very helpful and try to please. Traditional Minahasa cottages was clean with good amenities, including hairdryer. We stayed by the Hillside with good view of the beach and the volcano by Bunaken. Food was excellent with choices of seafood or meat and entrees, desert. We also enjoyed the diving with the local staffs and a German lady guide manager on some days. After the dive, we can relax by the pool or at the spa and enjoy a cool gin magaritta which was excellent made by Jimmy. Our week stay was wonderful and relaxing with good memories.

Room Tip: Go for early morning walks and hear the birds singing by the hillside and ask for a free upgrade to...

We went on a diving trip to Indonesia and stayed at the Minahasa Lagoon Dive & Tours Club during the first leg of our journey. The first thing that is worth mentioning is the smiling faces of the staffs who were always ready to oblige. The food was great and some of the cocktails in the bar totally stellar. There's one drink called "Minahasa Cocktail" which is spectacular. My only disappointment was the prices of drinks which were at European/UK levels that just did not seem fair - after all, we were in Indonesia! However, the resort is not in a busy populated area with lots of alternatives for bars/restaurants so one is confined to it for alcoholic beverages.

A short boat ride away on the other side of the channel is the island of Bunaken which is arguably one of the most colourful corals I have come across.

arrived and was met with all smiles.. Pim the manager was always present also with a smile and helpful anytime or day.. i know. i left to airport at 330am with no problem. i stayed 9 days and enjoyed everyday. the food was spicey and they would get what you wanted special at the market .everyday if you wanted. the new man in charge of the food, Probal, has changed the food and service apparently.. he snapped his fingers and they delivered.. never waited on a thing.. diving with eco divers was my 2nd time having dove at lembah before.. good boats and staff. macey acted as the dive manager. the other in charge was a new father.. kinda busy.. haha.. always had a guide to myself because they wanted skill level together and only a few guests at first..horin and donnie were my guides as well as macey . i had it made. loves it. would do again.

Room Tip: i had a garden room. cheaper and close to everything. 1st time so was lucky.very clean with open sho...

nice hotel with a pretty view over the manado tua island, overall all very nice experience although if one wants to dive bunaken park everyday the boat drive can take ca. 2h one-way....food was OK, and all the staff very nice, helpful and friendly, recommend to take the highland tour (nice for the last day after diving and before flying)

First arrival at the resort proved promising with a well managed environment and good range of cabins across sea views and in-land, accommodation was comfortable (although at 6 foot getting down to the bed was a challenge) the outside shower and “oriental” feel really well executed and having come from another eco-divers resort were really looking forward to some great diving and relaxation.
The diving operation, once on the boat, was excellent, similarly to Lembeh the local dive guides and boat crew were friendly, enthusiastic & experienced, really enhancing the trip and the Diving experience. We also benefitted significantly from being two Divers to one guide.
However with those high expectations set from the sister resort, whilst nothing was really negative, and with some staff exceptions, the rest of the elements- resort management (no visible Manager) and meals all seemed to be a little superficial and not delivered with the same belief, enthusiasm or commitment we had experienced previously.
From a much weaker “Eco” positioning on the diving through European prices on-resort (€9 for a glass of wine - cheaper by the bottle!) attempting to blend European presentation with local dishes to seemingly random daily allocation of dive boats and sites for us reduced the overall enjoyment level of the resort.
In the end all things that could be easily improved but a shame when measured against the good experiences delivered by the local dive crew.

Room Tip: We went for a Garden lodge which seemed less cramped and more isolated than those on the main beach...
