“Excellent Dive Operation”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 May 2014

The dive boats are spacious with lots of dry space and a head. At low tide,
divers must wade out to boat otherwise boarding is dockside.
When diving Bunaken Marine Park, trip out takes about 1 hour with 2 tanks
at the park. After a lunch on board and a return trip to the resort, the PM
dive is at a North Sulawesi site. Every other day, all diving is at North
Sulawesi sites with 2 AM dives, lunch at the resort then a PM dive.

The dive guides are very friendly, helpful, know the dive sites and are
excellent at finding critters. Diving both Bunaken and N.Sulawesi, there
are photo ops for both large critters and macro stuff. Lots of cuttlefish,
clownfish, pipefish, leaf scorpionfish, octopus and nudibanchs.

I had some dive gear issues, and the resort was right there with some
loaner equipment. I didn't miss a dive.

Should I return to North Sulawesi to dive, I would seriously consider
another stay at Minahasa Lagoon Resort and diving with Eco Divers

“well organised dive operation”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 February 2014

Dived with Eco Divers in Lembeh and Manado. The operation in Lembeh is managed by Tarkan and Kathrin. You spend the whole day on a boat anchored in the centre of Lembeh. A smaller boat takes you to the dive site. So like being on a liveaboard. Whilst the boat looked a little tired, the whole experience was excellent. The most important factor was the dive guides. Most of our diving was with Man who found the most incredible creatures and was sensitive to the speed that we wanted to move at. Lembeh is an amazing place to dive.
Our second week was in Manado. We were incredibly unlucky with the weather so only managed 7 of the planned 18 dives. The guides were good and made the best of the poor visibility.Macey, the manager did her best to give us a good experience. The trip to Bunaken took about 90 minutes which in rough sea was a challenge for those that suffer from sea sickness. Getting the boat back to the resort was a challenge in choppy sea and we had to use a nearby resort's jetty to get off the boat. The muck diving at Manado was good but not as good as Lembeh. We only managed 2 dives at Bunaken. It was very pretty but a long journey to get there.

“Excellent day diving”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 August 2013

Just spent an excellent day diving with Eco-divers. The staff were very professional, the boat well equipped for divers & we had some great dives in Bunaken National Park. Next time I will stay out there at Minahasa Lagoon Resort where they are based.

“Great staffs, poor equipments”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 August 2013

We stayed at Mihahasa Lagoon Resort and dived with Eco Divers. Their staffs were superb, very helpful both outside the water and during dives, thorough professionals. Mace is a total star! However I was disappointed with the quality of their equipments. One of my friends had the regulator split during the dive (a ring was missing, apparently the equipments were serviced a few weeks before). There were the odd leaked BCD's as well. There were others who have done over a few hundred dives and also complained about this. Having personally dived in two different places before in Southeast Asia and always chosen safety/quailty over price, I believe Eco Divers has great potentials if they only invested in the quality and upgrade of their equipments. My comparison of equipments was with PADI 5-star rated schools in the Gili Island (Indonesia) and Koh Tao (Thailand). That said I was pleased with everything else.

“MORE THAN A GREAT EXPERIENCE”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 July 2013

We spent our vacations in Manado in Jun´13, diving with Eco Divers and staying in Minahasa Lagoon Resort. Everything there it was EXCELLENT: the staff of Eco divers is a great team( Macys, the instructors, all the guys on the boat), we dived in Bunaken many days, the trip to get there is incredible, you can take drinks on the boat and also have lunch. The menu is really good, and every thing is fresh.
Diving is also amazing. The always adapt things to you to make then enjoyable.

In the hotel too, all the staff is very, very king. The food is really good, every day you can choose menu ( breakfast, lunch and dinner) and try local plates. Is really nice to get a beer in the pool after diving, and prices are not expensive. You can pay in euros and dollars, what make things easier.
If you are thinking in going to Manado, you have to go with them, you will enjoy diving and rest in the hotel.
