We stayed 4 nights in the Grand Seaview Cottage and enjoyed our stay.

Grand Seaview Cottage is the best room they've got. It's a lovely room with an outdoor bathroom but by no means luxurious. Generous amount of drinking water was provided in the room (greatly appreciated). TV is available with very limited channels. A/C could be better but was adequate.

We booked via email with prompt and efficient responses from their end. When we arrived, the manager Dan, welcomed us and chatted with us briefly. Dan was friendly and personable. It was evident he is very proud of the resort and so he should.

The food was okay, they're edible and we didn't get food poisoning. The Tasik Ria fried chicken was quite nice.

The diving was breathtaking! The dive and boat crew were an awesome bunch of people, friendly, cheerful, helpful and wonderfully efficient. We had Jimmy as our private dive guide and he was a great bloke. On the negative, there's alot of rubbish in the sea on the way to Bunaken which was really sad as it's such a beautiful place. We did a couple of land tours and saw people throwing rubbish out into the sea without any regards. It's truly heart breaking. But again, the diving in Bunaken was absolutely fabulous, even better than Wakatobi in our opinion. On one of the days, we saw pods of pilot whales, it's incredible!!

The massage was okay, the technique was quite different than what we are used to. Our masseuses kept whispering to each other which was rather annoying as they would stop quite often.

All in all, Tasik Ria is a good place to stay. It's a functional 3.5 stars accommodation with adequate facilities manned by pleasant resort staff and great diving crew.

When diving throughout SE Asia, one often has to sacrifice luxury for doing convenience and quality, or give up diving quality to be able to stay at one of the better resorts. Tasik Ria is the best of both experiences. This is one of the most amazing dive locales on the planet - from steep and deep coral cliffs to the mysterious and exquisite critters of Lembeh across the point. The awesome dive crew at Tasik Ria treat everyone like family, are completely professional, and talk about convenience! AND when was the last dive resort you've visited with a huge freshwater pool that had a swim up bar? Just sayin'. The rooms was large, well maintained, luxurious in Sulawesi style. The resort pristine, manicured, large, and private. The spa was heaven on earth, and did I say the pool had a swim up bar?

I've now tried three spots in the Manado area, even staying on the island of Bunaken itself in order to get closer to the prime Manado dive spots. Although adventurous, that was a less than stellar decision as the remoteness coupled with uncomfortable living arrangements and poorly maintained equipment. Not so at Tasik Ria and I cannot wait to return! (I'm booking a repeat trip as we speak!)

Room Tip: The beach front rooms are a treat, but friends in the poolside rooms loved their's just as well...

We stayed here for 4 nights after a cycling tour of Sulawesi, and found the accommodation very comfortable, the service consistent and friendly, and the diving excellent. We only snorkeled off Budaken Island but the divers we met all raved about the dives, the equipment and the support from the Dive Centre and staff. The dive boats are big, well equipped, and visit dive sites each day. We were allocated a guide for our snorkel group of two people. The resort is located out of Manado in a quiet spot along the coast. The transfer from the airport takes a bit over an hour - the traffic in Manado is very conjested. Our sea view cottage was very comfortable, room 606. The local reef is very good, just 50 metres off the beach. The swimming pool was huge. The food was plentiful, but not very adventurous - not very spicey. Manado is reknown for its spicey food. The dive boats are very safe and take about 50 minutes to get to the dive sites, of which there are many. Staff are very friendly and helpful. We did a local land tour of Minahasa culture - well recommended.

Room Tip: Sea view cottages are located closer to the beach, but further from the pool and the restaurant.

We were a group of 11 people from South Africa (Twobar Scuba) that stayed at Tasik for 9 days. What an amazing trip it was. Diving was awesome at Bunaken & Lembeh. Thanks to Monica, Noldy, Yanex, Maki and the rest of the crew making our diving a most memorable experience! To Dan and his staff at the resort, thanks again for making us feel so welcome. We have never been to another dive destination that people are so friendly and accommodating to the wishes of their guests. We will be back for sure in 2013 with some more divers.... The people of Manado has definitely captured our hearts. Best wishes Rika & Kobus Kotze

My wife and I stayed at Tasik Ria for 10 nights in late April this year, we were picked up from the Airport on time and about 45 minutes later arrived at the resort, the welcome at reception was very pleasant and check in was quick and easy.

We stayed in a beach bungalow (614 from memory), the room was a good size with a small outdoor veranda with chairs and a drying rack and a nice view. Inside the room there was a nice big bed, aircon, a mini bar, cable tv and the usual tea and coffee making things, one item that was very welcome was the 3ltr water dispenser that got replenished each day. One thing that let the room down however was the bathroom which was particularly shabby and in desperate need of a refurbishment, Dan the resort manager showed us around one of the bungalows that had been refurbished and the improvement was immense.

The staff were amazingingly friendly and seemingly couldn't do enough for you, this is true for both the resort and dive shop staff, whilst they were all extremely good our personal stand outs were Iskandar at the Jetty Bar and Maki and Yanex from the Dive Shop.

The food was either buffet style or a la carte, there was plenty of it although I think it could become a bit repetitive if you stayed here for a couple of weeks, particularly the breakfast options.

Dan the resort manager was extremely friendly and welcoming even organising a couple of trips for us to sample a small part of local life. One was to the local market to buy fish which he organised to be turned into several different dishes for us for dinner that night, the other was to buy Matabar, a local delicacy. He's a really nice, genuine guy who obviously cares about the resort and the people working there greatly

Overall we would recommend this resort to other, especially divers as it was excellent and we would jump at the chance to go back again, although we would ask for a refurbished room

Room Tip: If going for a beach front cottage ask for one that has been refurbished with a new bathroom.

Our family of four (only 1 diver) arrrived to be met by the fantastic Dan Green. We were made extremely welcome and settled in for 17 days of brilliant fun, Bintang beer and cocktails, not forgetting to mention the superb diving !
Dan is a star ! He runs Tasik Ria in a comfortable, informal manner but keeps a really good eye on what's going on. Not just a manager but an integral member of the local comunity, he cares about his staff which then comes through in the way his staff do their work.
From day one Dave (assistant manager), Tom with her cheeky smile, Ralph (the pool bar), Es (the Jetty bar) and lovely Friny were just a few of the great staff who always had a smile and became memorable friends. The service was as much as you required, the rooms clean and well kept. Food selection is a plenty (take care with the Dabu Dabu hot sauce) and good quality with the Jetty bar grill an excellent alternative to the resturant to watch the sun go down with fresh caught fish and a cool drink !!
The Spa is a must, especially after a days diving... The diving, WOW ! Monica runs & organises the diving. She deals with upto four large boats all safe, well equiped and well staffed giving pre-dive briefs every dive and catering for a multitude of nationalities as well as guided small boat & shore dives. We were well looked after, with a guide accompanying my wife and daughters for snorkelling over a reef at Bunaken Island.
Our daughters were spoilt, especially our youngest who's still fussy with food, nothing was too much trouble.
You must get out and visit Manado town, what an experience the trafic was ! If you're european, be prepared to be stared at.. No threats intended, the Manadanese are just really curious but friendly. And you must try the local fried banana in batter with chocolate sauce and melted cheese (heart wrenching !)
Needless to say, WE WILL BE BACK as soon as we can. Dan and Monica, we miss you. We had a wonderful stay and would recommend Tasik Ria every time !!!

Room Tip: The beach/sea view bungalows are worth spending the extra being really spacious and comfortable. The...

Had a diving vacation here. Great time, great staff, super cheap spa services, rally cool pool. Wasn't crazy about the food, I've had better in other Indonesia locations, but it was good enough.

Room Tip: All good. Our room was closest to the jetty/water. A little noisy in the AM due to dive staff prep...
