The staff and management are friendly and eager to please and will go the extra mile to try and provide for every need. Before I get into the nitty gritty of the resort, PLEASE remember that you get what you pay for.
In it's day, this must have been a 4 or 5 star resort, considering the facilities at your disposal. Today it is showing the wear and tear of the tropical and economical climate that it find itself in. HOWEVER, that being said, This is great value for money, the rooms are large and well appointed, The swimming pools, of which there are 4, are wall maintained and the main pool, at the pool bar, is huge and provides a welcome retreat after a days diving.
The food at the pool bar and in the dining room was great, with enough choice to satisfy our taste and that of our 2 children, 17 & 20 (Burgers & Pizza) and on occasion, the chef even prepared food for us on request. (some notice required). All things considered, we definitely want to go back.
We stayed at Tasik Ria in January 2011, “the rainy season”? We were very lucky to have limited rain, mainly in the afternoon or evening and only on 2 of our 5 days, in fact the condition could not have been much better.
This resort is well situated to make the most of North Sulawesi's diving opportunities. The dive sites , other than the spectacular house reef, are all about 60 min boat ride away.
The boats, or small ships, were great and the trip never seemed too far. The diving at Bunaken Island was fantastic and with the expiation of one dive, after the previous nights rain storm that had washed the islands litter into the sea, the viz was good and there was always plenty to see.
The house reef has reef diving and Muck diving. The amount of great photographic opportunities that arose here was a very present surprise and at time qualified the house reef as the best dive of the day
The dive centre staff and boat crew are all well trained, friendly and efficient and the resort provide very affordable dive packages and a destination that you will want to return to. We Do!
