We are a family with 3 children from 6 to 12 years old. All of us, we have wonderful memories of our trip to Sumatra. Fikkar gave us the right contact for the home stay and he organised an amazing and secured Merapi ascension. He gave us the right advice to make it a success. We appreciate a lot his way of sharing the culture of his own country.

it's an ordinary volcano at my opinion, the locals said that it's still active and it's frightening me for a while. the volcano's shape is just like other mount and nothing special

Most of the time it's foggy on the summit, but the scenery is amazing, when we drive from Lubuk Basung towards Bukittinggi

Nice view of the mountain when you get to Bukit Tinggi. Perfect photo shots. Early morning view of the mountain is amazing.

My little village is called Sariak. It lies between the two grand volcanoes in West Sumatra, Gunung Marapi and Gunung Singgalang.

It is a peaceful, quiet little village, but the people living there are just old people and young children. The adults, as their customs want them to be, are all "perantau". They seek their livelihood away from their village.
