Overpriced by Medan standards, both the food and the drink. But if you want reasonable western food in Medan, there are not so many choices....
We decided to go for the Saturday evening buffet dinner, which is much more reasonably priced at IDR 110,000 (compared to dishes that cost 3 or 4 times that). Fairly good selection (but not as much as a hotel buffet), including sashimi, tempura prawns, roast beef and roast lamb. The pepper sauce with the beef was nice, but the beef itself was a bit tough. A lot of the buffet dishes were lukewarm, bordering on cold. Selection of desserts, nothing very special just standard bought-in fodder, but okay.
They said their credit card machines were all broken when we went to pay (I suspect they wanted to save the fee?). They were told to keep trying till it worked... and after a while they eventually came back with the slip to sign. A place charging the prices it does should not have an issue with credit card machines!
