The restaurant front is deceptively run-down. Once you pass the main cooking area, you'll see the dining area which is by the beach front and has a nice calming atmosphere about it.
I liked that they played recorded covers of popular songs. And for the wired traveler, they have FREE WIFI =)
My friends and I ordered grilled prawns, sambal kangkong, omelette, satay, sunshine fried chicken and fruit juices.
The grilled prawns didn't have a consistent quality. Some had the nice spongy texture while others were mushy. Taste wise not too bad. The best thing about the prawns was the local veggie paste that came with it that had an authentic local flavour.
The sunshine chicken wasn't well seasoned as the insides weren't consistently tasty. The skin was at the least equal to KFC standards if not better.
The sambal kangkong (or Belacan kangkong) was different from the Malaysian/Singaporean style in that the gravy was very watery but definitely far more spicy.
Chicken satay was so-so and the omelette wasn't anything extraordinary. Definitely forgettable.
Juices wise, the pineapple wasn't as sweet as those at the hotel (Living Asia Resort) or Warung Menega but the orange was rather tasty.
