After much diligent research, we decided to take our Australian visitors to Doniana for a midday meal during our visit to Acco. We are all in mid seventies+ and I had planned a walking tour of about 4 hours with a break at 1.30pm. Yesterday, 4th June was extremely hot, and by the time we reached the sea walls from our parked car at the opposite end of the old city, we were all in need of refreshment. I pointed out Doniana to our friends and remarked that that was where we would be eating our meal, but we could have coffee, cold drinks nearby. We were more than an hour early for our booked table. However Doniana is so incredibly beautifully situated, that our friends begged to stop then and there. AT 12. 20 the restaurant was quite empty and clearly the staff were still getting ready. However within minutes we were seated at a table with 180 degrees of magnificent views. We enjoyed a leisurely mezzo, very fresh and tastefully prepared . The fattouch salad was excellent. Our mains came after a decent interval but would have been quicker had we asked. By 1.00pm the restaurant was full. The sea bream was grilled to perfection with no fancy sauces to spoil the fresh sweet taste of the fish, served simply with half a lemon and very good french fries. The lamb chops were abundant, about 6 large ones and done exacty as ordered. Rare. Grilled well on the outside but pink all the way through. Something quite difficult to obtain in Israel where meat is usually overdone. This is not gourmet food. But there were more upmarket dishes on the menu. We chatted away to our heart's content. Although the restaurant was full, no-one pressured us to leave. Service, when we required it was attentive and very pleasant. It was exactly the experience I had hoped for. We will return and recommend this restaurant highly to our friends. PS very glamourous washrooms.

Restaurant with a nice view but with terrible service from the waiters. Food is a very poor and badly washed taste. In our salad had a barber insect.

My family and American guests (16 people total) had excellent dinner to celebrate end of visit to Israel. The restaurant is located on the walls of Acre and you can see Haifa across the bay. The food is very good and tasty. The cuisine is typical Israeli with lot of salads and wide selection of entrees (fish, chicken and meat). The service is very good and the waiters respond to any request very fast incluidng replacing empty salad plates with new ones. The prices are very affordable and overall this is a good place to eat after viisting the old city. Recommended!

My family dined here today. We hadn't reserved, but the hostess gave us a table in a superb location: on the veranda overlooking the walls of Acre and the Mediterranean sea. And this was the rush hour of Saturday noon! The views were magnificent, and the service was impeccable. The food is very good and tasty. Each plate and dish was generously loaded with good food in large quantities. We ordered the mixed grill and salads. The meats were very tasty, and the salads (about 15 plates of different kinds!) were fresh and interesting. During the meal, the waiter is constantly replacing empty salad plates with new ones, so we had to stop him at one point. The prices are very affordable and overall this is a good bet to dine there in a wonderful atmosphere. Recommended!

We visited on a holiday weekend at lunch time, so it was very busy. Our reservation was honored immediately, and we were seated with a great view of Haifa Bay. Service was extremely friendly and helpful and we enjoyed an excellent meal after the continuously refilled and pleasantly varied mezze, including an excellent hummous, and some nicely sharply spiced vegetables. The variety of shrimps was impressive, and we got to sample four kinds. The grilled fish that was ordered was also excellent. We definitely enjoyed the the setting, the food and the service.
