“A basic Hotel”

Close to the old walled town of Acre (Acco), this hotel can be a base to trips in the north of Israel. The hotel was renovated, but the rooms are very simple. The lobby is very small, and no bar. A nice small pool, gim and sauna. The hotel located on the sea shore. The gate to the shore is open till 18:30, but you have to call the security person to open it every time you want to go in or out.
There is a nice choice at breackfast (dairy and vegetables) and at dinner. The bathrooms flooded every time we took a shower.

We made a reservation through booking, checked and rechecked with the hotel. When we arrived, the receptionist told us, that we cancelled it! Ye, right! So we waited for half an hour. One of the rooms we've got had terrible smell of cigarettes. When I asked to change, the receptionist gave us another with strong smell of fresh paint. At last after one and a half hour we could breath in both our rooms. When we uncovered our beds, we were forced to ask for another 2 sets of bedclothes, bathrooms windows and mirrors - you don't want to know. More than that, they asked us to pay extra 200 shekels taxes, because one of our party was Israeli citizen, even though both rooms were booked on our names.

Acco Beach Hotel has the potential to be a really nice option for staying near the beach in Akko. The hotel opened last year and rooms are new, pool is great and it really is right on the beach. Breakfast was generous and offered a lot of options -- cereals, breads, omelettes, fresh fruit, vegetables, yogurt.
But little things detracted from our stay. We arrived at 6:30 p.m. on a hot day looking forward to taking a swim before dinner but we were told the pool closed at 6 p.m. (This was in the middle of summer). We asked if we could get access to their beach but that was closed too.
The first room we saw reeked of cigarette smoke. So we took another room that was less smelly. When we got to our room we discovered that the toilet seat was broken and a towel rack came off the wall in my hand. The manager gave us a third room (also stinking of cigarette smoke). The next day we finally got to swim in the pool, which is delightful -- large, cool and refreshing. But the lifeguard kicked my husband out of the pool at 5:45. In addition, the doors from the rooms to the tiny balconies on the first floor don't lock, making it easy for people to steal your stuff. (I don't know if that happens but it certainly could.)
I admit these are little things but in general we got the sense that the place was cheaply put together (cabinets didn't quite fit, handles were missing, another towel rack fell off the wall) and the staff really doesn't seem to care. The hotel clerk spent a lot of time watching the TV in the lobby but wasn't very helpful when we asked for directions or restaurant suggestions.

Room Tip: Ask for a beachside room but if you don't like cigarette smoke sniff it out first.

New hotel, so everything is new. Ask for room with sea view. Food was plentiful, very tasty and a great variety. A big dry sauna, but get them to turn in on well in advance of use. Wifi is free and good but only in the lobby. Rooms are very nice. Only a short 15 min walk to the old city and the tourist sites.
