“Unexpectedly good breakfast”
Reviewed 27 May 2013

A hotel in need of refurbishment, the bathroom wasn't the cleanest and the door and balcony locks didn't work properly. Very average so the excellent breakfast buffet was a very pleasant surprise. The best breakfast of my 8 day stay in Israel in terms of both choice and food quality. The hotel was also very quiet.

Balance the positive of being on the beach (although fencing and wire is a little off putting) with the flights going overhead until mid evening. staff are polite and welciming and thr room, although compact are perefct for a short stay. Breakfast was a little disappointing - possibly due to preparing for passover so no bread, cereals or cakes and had to ask for coffee

Went there for a short weekend with the extended family.
took 4 rooms, and all were clean , quits large and renovated, so it felt like almost being in a new hotel.
The food (we took HB) was fine. not more, but certainly not less, there was a good variety of meets at dinner, many many kinds of salads and side dishes.
the breakfast was perfectly adequate to a 3 stars hotel in Israel (and even 4 stars) , and if you come from another country - you'll appreciate the large variety of everything (except for meat, due to kosher issues.
The location, however is not amazing, and you'd better have a car if you get there, since it's about half an hour walking to the old city.

Room Tip: make sure not to stay in the rooms nearest to the main building , since children have the habit of p...

There are two main hotels in Akko, The Palm Beach hotel and the Acco Beach hotel. Since the Acco beach hotel according to every map was a lot closer to the old city of Akko, we figured we'd go there.

To our suprise the hotel is located exactly next to the "Palm Beach hotel", which is 10x nicer (and not that more expensive). The wrong address is even on the Acco beach website, probably to trick people.
Furthermore, the hotel does not have 4 stars (as said on booking.com), I checked and this is outdated.
Finally, the service was terrible. The girls behind the desk are incompetent. The manager of the hotel is nasty as well.
Overall, the room is ok and the food is even good, but for a bit more money (In our case 100 shek), go to the Palm Beach.

Room Tip: Dont go here....

This is a perfectly fine hotel, not nearly as bad as the other reviews make it out to be, but nothing special. It's a very nice Motel 6, clean but spare. The pool is lovely but small and has very limited hours. Internet is only available in the lobby. The food, however, is fabulous. You'll enjoy any meal you have there and be sure to check out the restaurant across the street (and next to the gas station).

Here's a perfect example of a ticky tacky motel posing as a "hotel." As others have pointed out, the rooms are plain and badly finished but are adequate in cleanliness, quiet and comfort. But that's the only positive thing one can say.
We were two families visiting during the Succoth holiday with two seven-year old kids. We knew we were in trouble when, upon check-in, we were required to pay the entire cost of our stay up front. In the morning, when I saw that the pool was still closed, I enquired in the lobby when it would open. "We are closed for the season,"
was the answer, and this is despite our calling before booking to check, directly with the hotel, if the pool would be open, and despite the Internet information stating that the pool season was through October, inclusive.
When I complained, I was referred to Anat, the reservation agent there. What a piece of work she was. She was perhaps the most disagreeable and inhospitable tourist industry worker I'd ever encountered. "Tough luck" was basically what she said when I told her that we would have never arrived for a vacation with two boys had we known in advance that the pool would be closed! You can imagine their disappointment.
But that's just for starters. The first night, a terrible sewage smell from outside kept our son awake and choked us for hours. The second night, we returned from a day trip to a total power outtage. Granted, half the city was dark -- but did anyone at the hotel greet us as we came in, explained the situation, try to help? Of course not!
We discovered the outtage only when we went to our rooms to shower and change.
There was no emergency lighting in the rooms.
The breakfasts were quite poor -- inedible hot food, wilted salads and stale bread.
This is establishment is so cheap, so bent on providing the minimum to guests, that even the cable stations were limited to news -- no movie channels.
The beach outside is unkempt, littered, with no chairs or shade.
In conclusion, stay away if you want to enjoy your vacation.

Close to the old walled town of Acre (Acco), this hotel can be a base to trips in the north of Israel. The hotel was renovated, but the rooms are very simple. The lobby is very small, and no bar. A nice small pool, gim and sauna. The hotel located on the sea shore. The gate to the shore is open till 18:30, but you have to call the security person to open it every time you want to go in or out.
There is a nice choice at breackfast (dairy and vegetables) and at dinner. The bathrooms flooded every time we took a shower.
