By the same owner as the Uri Buri restaurant ( kind of 4/5 stars restaurant) this place which I just visited is a palace from a couple of centuries, which has been redone, redecorated ....just a 8 1/2 years job .....worth a visit and certainly a stay .....

With all my appreciation for Uri Buri - to my feeling the best restaurant of Israel - i really wanted to stay in his completely new hotel. An old palace transformed in a pure dream. Stunning rooms with complete up to date design. History and future nicely married with each other. Great personal service. Very orignal breakfast. Sublime view. Akko is a wonderful place and thanks to this hotel you can enjoy high end accomodation. There is simply no other hotel offering the same unforgettable experience. Having the Uri Buri restaurant close by is of course another plus point. Simply the best. Congratulations !

Room Tip: Go fro the seaview...

The building (I believe a former palace) that the hotel is housed in is architecturally stunning - with high hand painted fresco ceilings, arches, and beautiful stone walls - and is in a prime location in historically beautiful Akko.

We stayed for one night in a Deluxe Room which was very spacious, had a luxurious bathtub, rainforest shower, and some of the most comfortable pillows we'd ever had the pleasure of sleeping on. There was some black modern furniture that didn't blend well with the theme of the hotel and the room's decor, but other than that, the rooms were well-appointed.

We found that despite being guests when the hotel first opened, that the service was up to our high standards. We were greeted by the Hotel Manager Ruti - a gracious host - and received warm smiles from both the housekeeping staff and the girl working reception.

Breakfast the following day was fresh and delicious, and before we left, we spent an hour relaxing on the hotel's gorgeous balcony over looking the sea.

This is a unique hotel which we'd recommend for couples looking for a romantic getaway in Israel.

The Hotel is highly recommended if you are visiting Acre or just want to absorbed the special atmosphere of this old colorful town rich in history and unique sites. The atmosphere is magical and you feel like in another dimension resulting from 8.5 years of tasteful restoration of two old homes made with love and attention to the smallest details. Rooms are highly equipped with all modern facilities integrated nicely with the old restored building, Mills are cooked by a gifted chef, Ido Zarmi, Breakfast is included and beside the high quality of all the ingredients it might serve you as a source of energy for the rest of the day,
The Templar's tunnel is nearby and serve as a convenient starting point for a tour of Old Acre, which was declared by UNESCO as a world heritage site.

Location, location, location.... As soon you arrived you know you landed into a very special place. The rooms are very spacious, very comfortable and you can see some little touches everywhere. In the evening go to the bar and try a their selection of Israeli wine (excellent). Delicious breakfast served in a beautiful room.
Dont wait... Soon you will have a hard time to find a room available in this charming hotel
Thank you Uri...

The Efendi hotel is not an ordinary hotel, It is an hallucination of the Sultan's palace. The energy in the hotel is very relaxing, I was treated as a king. Spending time in this hotel, you can tell someone thought of all the little details. I couldn't get out of the comfortable bed, I couldn't stop staring at the beautiful high painted ceiling. The view seen from the hotel is taken from one of Fellini's movie... and the breakfast was unforgettable. The hotel is architecturally breathtaking, located between the allies of a colorful, exotic and vibrant city. Uri Buri, the man who made his dream a reality, is an intellectual, philosopher, warm and creative, full of humor and above all an amazing chef. Since words cannot express the expirience, you must visit yourself!

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Nestled in the picturesque narrow lanes of Acre, the Efendi Hotel overlooks the historic city walls and the magnificent Mediterranean Sea beyond. The unique structure of this hotel combines two ancient houses that have hundreds of years of history stored within their walls. These houses were meticulously reconstructed and merged into one building before being converted into a boutique hotel.. Complex preservation and restoration work over a period of eight years gave birth to a gorgeous, breathtaking pearl that was truly a labor of love. Thought was invested in each and every detail of the preservation work, which was performed under the supervision of the Antiquities Authority. Artisans were specially flown in from Italy in order to undertake this delicate work, as well as the restoration of the beautiful ceilings. All rooms in the hotel are furnished and equipped to the highest standards, and each room has its own unique character and style. Some rooms' ceilings feature illustrations, while others are made from preserved wood. Most of the windows offer sea views, while others look out over the ancient city of Acre and the scenic mountains of the Western Galilee. ... more   less
