Booked one night in Akko at the Efendi, thanks to TripAdvisor reviews of the hotel. I will definitely come back and spend more time.

Hotel is located in the old City of Akko, in a very safe corner, walking distance from all the main touristy area. Same owner as Uri Buri, the excellent seafood restaurant, which is 5 min walk from the hotel.

Efendi offers spacious rooms, luxury bathrooms, spa (book in advance), great attention to details, amazing views of either the old city or the sea and a great rooftop with a bar and couches to relax and watch sunset.

We traveled there as a family and we had an amazing and relaxing time. A true gem.
Breakfast was also excellent and the wine cellar very charming. I posted a bunch of pictures to illustrate my review.

Even though our family time was great, I would recommend this place for couples.

Room Tip: all rooms had their own character. We had 4 rooms and they were all perfect, either facing old city...

We spent a night in the Efendi Hotel in Acre, and it was magnificent. The old restored house is so beautiful and romantic, the atmosphere is relaxing, the staff was kind and helpful. One of the best places to stay in Israel.

Room Tip: Room 11, the presidential suite with the ocean view, is the best.

The level of detail in the restoration, the quality of the furniture and materials, the smell that soothes you the moment you walk in and the friendliness of the service makes this a wonderful experience. The breakfast is my favorite of all Israel's hotels which is high praise. Beautiful, authentic and elegant hotel.

I spent there one night during this weekend. The most beautiful hotel in Israel in my opinion!
So authentic, artistic, clean, big, quiet, all the small details are perfect!
Breakfast was just great!
Really enjoyed the spa.
Loved the rooftop during the sunset with a glass of wine.
I recommend to dine in the restaurant Uri Buri nearby, amazing food, simple atmosphere...
Waiting for the next time!

this was a recommendation which we were delighted we listened to. This is an old Palace that has been sympathetically restored and provides airy spacious rooms with large public areas to relax in.
There is a lovely roof terrace from where you can a drink as the sun sets very romantic!
Breakfast is served on the ground floor around a very large table which encourages the guest to talk and share experiences.
The staff are charming ,friendly and helpful and nothing is to much trouble. There is a Hamam and spa service available which you need to book.
A nice touch along with the complimentary tea and nespresso all soft drinks in the mini bar are complimentary

Room Tip: Try to get a room facing the sea.

What a fabulous hotel! The building from the outside is unremarkable from its mainly unrestored and dilapidated neighbours in the old city, but once inside! Wow! It feels like the set of a James Bond movie! Ostensibly a restored palace, the hotel's rooms lead off from large and lavishly furnished areas and balconies framed by a series of arches offer beautiful views of minarets and domes and the blue blue waters of the Med. Our room (no. 13) was one of the newly built ones and was thus large and well equipped. The service was efficient and welcoming. One complaint was the breakfast, which, by Israeli standards was disappointing. The choices were minimal and service was somewhat surly on the one day.

This property is a converted mosque and it's truly breathtaking. The sea views, the uniquely well appointed rooms, the gorgeous bathrooms, the many terraces to sit outdoors and enjoy the sunset were all a win.

The hotel is connected to (or owned by) famed Israeli chef Uri Buri. We didn't try his restaurant and I kinda regret it....That said, the restaurant in the hotel lacked character, it doesn't have any windows.

The location for the hotel is also really cool. Easily walkable and next to the sea. Driving to Haifa is about 20 mns.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Nestled in the picturesque narrow lanes of Acre, the Efendi Hotel overlooks the historic city walls and the magnificent Mediterranean Sea beyond. The unique structure of this hotel combines two ancient houses that have hundreds of years of history stored within their walls. These houses were meticulously reconstructed and merged into one building before being converted into a boutique hotel.. Complex preservation and restoration work over a period of eight years gave birth to a gorgeous, breathtaking pearl that was truly a labor of love. Thought was invested in each and every detail of the preservation work, which was performed under the supervision of the Antiquities Authority. Artisans were specially flown in from Italy in order to undertake this delicate work, as well as the restoration of the beautiful ceilings. All rooms in the hotel are furnished and equipped to the highest standards, and each room has its own unique character and style. Some rooms' ceilings feature illustrations, while others are made from preserved wood. Most of the windows offer sea views, while others look out over the ancient city of Acre and the scenic mountains of the Western Galilee. ... more   less
