“Compliments to the chef, et al.”
Reviewed 4 May 2014

We had a delightful experience dining at Uri Buri today. We were welcomed by friendly staff and seated promptly, although we had no reservation and the restaurant was quite busy. Everything seemed to run flawlessly. Our server took time to explain different dishes on the menu and make recommendations based on what she understood to be our taste preferences. The delivery of each course seemed to be perfectly timed. We were a party of four, and have all lived all over the world. Throughout the meal, we continued to comment on the excellent food and great attitude of the staff. We found it to be one of the best dining experiences we've had. We would definitely return, and highly recommend.

“Pricey, but worth it for baby Tilapia alone”
Reviewed 4 May 2014

This is your best bet in Israel for having excellent seafood.

Highlights:
Some amazing starters like salmon sashimi with wasabi and especially the caramel baby tilapia.
Tasting menu available, so you can try several dishes.
Service is pretty good and Uri's beard is definitely an attraction.

Not so great:
Prices are pretty high and escalate fast.
Some dishes, like the soup and desserts, are decent, but nothing really special.
Restaurant's interior looks very shabby indeed.

Overall, if you like interesting seafood and can afford a little splurge, go for it!

“Excellent place for seafood near Haifa.”
Reviewed 30 April 2014

Extensive sellection of seafood dishes in Acre ("Akko" in Hebrew). The "tasting menu" is an unlimited set of dishes coming one after the other. Its really good but you should skip the previous meal in order to eat it properly.
I recommend this place but have your pocket ready to spend money.

“interesting flavors”
Reviewed 28 April 2014

We had a delicious dinner at Uri Buri. I was unable to make a reservation on line, but had not problem to be seated (we were a group of 5) by getting there early (7:15pm). The flavors were interesting to the point I bought his book: a mix of elements from different cuisines (middle-eastern, Italian, French, Mediterranean); ingredients were very fresh. The service was ok: the waiter didn't volunteer any explanation of the dishes (he did explained a bit when asked). The owner/chef was not working in the kitchen but did came to the restaurant later in the evening to be available to talk to the clients and sign the book. I would go back next time I am in Israel to try more dishes on the menu.

Great seafood with clever and tasty combinations. Get the tasting menu and just enjoy the dishes as they come.
