The rooms were very nice, and the hostel was definitely better than some of the hotels I visited in Israel. Staff were very friendly and provided excellent service. They were fast when responding to requests, and were extremely friendly. This was the place I visited in Israel that I felt the most welcome. The rooms were clean, very large, and quite spatious. The landscaping was very beautiful, and the rooms had excellent views. Thir dinner was pretty good as well. Highly recommend.

Room Tip: Try to stay on the second floor. It has the best views.

We arrived in Arad after touring the biblical sites in the Shephelah related to the life of Shimshon. As we arrived in the Negev there was a great sandstorm. Visibility was rather low. We had supper in Beer Sheva and headed to Arad. We arrived prior to Shabbat beginning. The staff left early due to Shabbat. The place was clean and quite comfortable. The grounds seemed to be well maintained and the buildings immaculate. The landscaping around the property is beautiful. There are places nearby to get food. A group of Israeli high school children occupying three coach buses was also staying at the hostel. The older Israeli teens held a Shabbos service in the dining hall. The hostel area was rather noisy but expected with that many teens being on the grounds. That evening the rain began to pour and continued for the next day and a half. The staff related that it was the annual rain, the only one they would get. Later in the evening someone brought food by that we would be able to eat for our breakfast. The portions for our group of 7 was quite generous and good food. The youth hostel was rather easy to find with our gps. Upon leaving the following day we had difficulty due to construction on the main road into Arad. Our gps could not seem to cope with giving us a usable detour. Once the construction is finished I am sure it will be easy to come and go from the hostel.

Room Tip: The upper floor units allow you to get good air circulation provided there is not a sandstorm.

The term "youth hostel," may give travelers the wrong impression. I didn't see this as a youth hostel until I was told. The grounds are beautiful! The rooms are nice. The food was very good. The location was mostly quiet and very relaxing. I would stay there again!
