Herzliya is an expensive place and there are several hotels along the beachfront. I believe the Sharon is towards the cheaper end of the scale, so I bear this in mind when I stay.
The hotel itself is a little tatty / old fashioned, but perfectly good. The rooms are spacious and clean, the air conditioning is great, the beds big and comfy.
The spa and gym is fantastic, and one of the reasons I stay here.
The food is also great and I love their giant salads - the Aquarelle and Taverna. No lettuce to be found in these! It's all beautiful chopped tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers etc. and various cheeses like mozarella and Roquefort.
I would certainly compare hotels along the beachfront for price, but I believe that the Sharon offers by far the best value for money. Admittedly, I only stay for business, so all I need is food, a bed and a gym. Would I stay here for a romantic get away or holiday? Probably, but only because I'm so familiar with it. If I wanted more luxury or a more modern hotel, and was willing to pay more, then I may stay elsewhere.More
