We stopped at Chaos for breakfast on the way from Carlsbad to Taos. It was a perfect place, the decorations are fun and the waitress was attentive. Really enjoyed the huevos rancheros!

Stopped in on the way to Santa Fe from a visit to Carlsbad. It was breakfast time, and we had checked other reviews. Building is pretty plain on the outside, but cozy, clean, and decorated inside. There were quite a few vehicles in the parking lot, which is often a good indication of a place's quality and loyalty of customers. The menu was simple but adequate. The food was simple but adequate. I think we expected more of a hometown southwestern flair. The portions were good. The service was good. It was a bit pricier than your average breakfast chain restaurant. The bathrooms could use a good freshening up.

Personally I prefer their breakfast over their lunch. The pancakes and breakfast burritos are huge. If you eat there at lunch, they have daily specials. The pasta salad is good.

My husband and I both got a full breakfast one morning and the amount of food was overwhelming. The baking powder biscuits were very good and the hash browns freshly prepared and crispy. My husband had the short stack (2) of blueberry pancakes and they were excellent - a little crispy on the outside and the size of a dinner plate. We ate there again and split a breakfast which was a much better choice! Even though it was busy, service was friendly and the coffee kept coming without having to ask for it. The outside might look a little ordinary but the food certainly is not!

I've reviewed this restaurant before and while it remains a good restaurant with good food, the service when the place is busy leaves a lot to be desired. Breakfast is a busy time but there are only 2 wait persons. We waited a long while to gave an order taken, tables were waiting to have menus given, orders were lining up at the warming ststion, completely ignored by the wait persons, a table that was used still had dirty cutlery and crockery when we left about 45 minutes later. A lady, presumably the proprietor/owner, stood by and just watched the harried staff. She also used a cloth that had been used to wipe up a spill on a table to wipe a plate before the cook slid eggs on to it!
It remains a good place with goid food but be prepared for bad service if you hit breakfast rush time.
