“Great stays”
Reviewed 29 September 2013

With hotel chains over priced and booked, we hit a home run in finding the Adobe Rose. Thanks to Trip Advisor. The rooms were very clean and the decor a welcome to the southwest. The beds very comfortable. Although there were other guests we felt we had the place to ourselves. Then, to just walk through a door and into the restaurant what a way to end a long day on the road. Great food! The salmon was great and the green chili enchiladas were excellent and enough for lunch on the road the next day. It was so good, both the B&B and the restaurant that we stayed there on our way back. We will definitely be back!

We'd been traveling a few days visiting the New Mexico area and this was the last two days of our vacation. We wanted somewhere between Roswell and Carlsbad. Needless to say, we were pretty tired and trying to wind down. We were pleasantly surprised by how large and comfortable the room was and it had a separate living/dining room area with a mini fridge, sofa, microwave and table. The whole room was beautifully decorated and you could tell the owners took great pride in decorating the rooms. We felt right at home. Room had a flat screen TV, speakers, DVD player, full digital cable with all the movie channels, iron with full size ironing board, in room safe, and built in desk. We also had access to washer and dryer so we were able to wash a few days of dirty clothing, which was greatly appreciated. If we are in this area again, we will definitely stay here again.

On a recent trip to New Mexico we wanted to visit Roswell and Carlsbad Caverns, cross the mountains over to White Sands, stop in historic Los Cruces and swing up to Albuquerque. This was a good first stop, where we spent two nights. It's very close to Roswell and very convenient to Carlsbad, and in the time we had we could do everything we wanted. The location is quiet, if not right "downtown", and the room was very comfortable. The breakfast is basic US, but that was just fine. A hearty recommendation to the spot.

My wife and I were celebrating our 1st anniversary in and around southeast New Mexico and I had the Adobe Rose circled as THE place for THE day. Ever since our honeymoon in northern Michigan, I wanted to recreate our wonderful B&B experience and Adobe Rose was the place. The rooms are modern, large, and comfy. Outdoor entrances are by code lock and interior doors are by key. There's even an entry to the Adobe Rose Restaurant next door (see review there) which is excellent. Megan was extremely helpful in organization before and during our stay. She helped organize a cake being made and delivered as well as our anniversary meal. We left one day very early for the caverns and our room was cleaned by 2. The next day we didn't leave until noon and our room was clean by 5. The only recommendation I could make is that breakfast is pretty carb heavy. Make plans if you need some protein in the morning.

We had a wonderful stay and am so happy to have this gem in Artesia. It's a smaller town without much offering. Adobe Rose is miles above what you could get for hundreds of miles around (I looked!)

Room Tip: Room 3 was slightly separated from the rest and the interior door opened right to the coffee and ice...

My friend and I were visiting the Carlsbard Caverns and would like to stay in a B&B, and didnt mind the drive (about an hour from the Caverns). The owner, Megan, was very accommodating and friendly, she doesnt stay on the property but came to wait for us at 10pm when we arrived. The room is nicely decorated, with a queen bed, and a small sitting area with a sofa bed and dining table. There're chairs, swings in the patio too... The owners has put a lot of efforts in keeping the property clean and charming.. Breakfast, however, is simple and nothing fancy...Overall, good price for the money and doesnt mind staying again...

Was in Artesia on business and someone recommended we eat at the Adobe Rose. We had a great meal and we would go back. For a small town like Artesia the restaurant was much more than I expected. Upscale casual decor like you might find in larger cities. We were there in the middle of the afternoon so there was few customers so no waiting. Service was good and friendly. The presentation of the food was impressive. I had the bison burger with peppers and cream cheese. Unusual and very very good. I would order that again. It came with hot crispy thin fries served in a mini-deep fryer metal basket. We also had their chips and salsa. All very good and at very reasonable prices. If you were in a larger city the same meal would cost 30% more. So, good meal, great value, good service. We would go back again !

Adobe Rose Bed and Breakfast is an unusual place. There’s a common room which all the rooms open onto. So that’s the B and B part. But each room also has its own outside entrance. So that is appealing to non B and B people. We found it to be the lowest rate in the area and had good reviews so we decided to try it. Our room set-up was great—a sitting room plus a large bedroom. All very clean, nice bathroom with a good shower. It happened to be quite cold during our two night stay. That’s where a problem cropped up. The sitting area was very cold and that’s where the outside door entered so that made things even colder. After enduring an hour or two of that, we called the B and B owner and she told us about a heater in the bedroom area. We moved that and things were good! Breakfast was continental but it was fine as long as you weren’t looking for more. Meghan was very nice to deal with and we enjoyed having the extra space. Just be sure to look for the heater if you are in #4.

Room Tip: Ask about the heater for #4 if you're there in cold weather.
