“A True New Mexico Gem”
Reviewed 7 August 2014

I had the good fortune to stay many times here and Megan always took amazing care of us. This is like staying with a good family friend with all the perks of a very nice hotel. It really is the only place to stay if you are lucky enough to secure one of the four rooms.

This would be a gem in Santa Fe or Taos, we are just so lucky to have it in Artesia 1

Room Tip: Eat at the attached restaurant and be sure to have the Jalapeno poppers!

We stayed at the Adobe Rose for two nights while visiting southern New Mexico. It was very comfortable and clean. Breakfast is serve-yourself, with typical continental style choices in a cozy common area. Megan does not live onsite, but gave us a good tour with instructions when we arrived and is easily reached by cell phone. Artesia is a great choice if you are visiting Carlsbad Caverns and Roswell. We liked walking around downtown and seeing the sculptures that pay homage to the cattle drive industry and the relaxing plaza with its murals and water fountains.

Our 3 generation ladies group spent the night at Megan's gracious accommodations while traveling between Carlsbad Caverns and Santa Fe. The room was very well sized for the three of us, very, very clean, and the common space and breakfast wonderful to have the following morning. We could not have been happier with our stay.

Our family of four needed a place to stay after visiting Carlsbad Caverns, as we were on a Spring Break road trip through New Mexico. Artesia ended up being a great, conveniently located place to spend a night, and we were optimistic about the Adobe Rose Inn after seeing all the great reviews on Trip Advisor. The room was beautifully furnished and decorated, and the whole inn was very clean and comfortable. After speaking with our hostess (Megan) by phone to see if there would be enough room for two adults and two teenage boys, she assured us that she had a room with a Queen bed and two separate twin pull-outs. Our room was actually a two-room suite, which worked out wonderfully and let everyone have plenty of space. The continental breakfast was really delicious (particularly the muffins!), and we loved sitting in the common room with the natural light coming through the skylight. After we finished our entire week-long trip, we asked our kids about their favorite parts of the vacation. Our youngest son said Adobe Rose Inn was his favorite play to stay because it was so beautiful inside. I'd have to agree and would highly recommend it for anyone planning to stay in Artesia.

As a side note, the actual location of the Adobe Rose Inn is a short drive (less than a mile) from downtown Artesia. The immediate area around the Inn is not the most scenic area, but the downtown area is really cute with a good amount of public art (sculptures) and was a great place to visit.

Beautifully furnished and had unique furniture. Very peaceful atmosphere. Very comfortable and clean.

We had room with a sitting area and then the sleeping area through an archway.

Our hostess was very nice and engaging.

There was a nice patio area with a grill and porch swing which we used a little.

We loved this little place.

With hotel chains over priced and booked, we hit a home run in finding the Adobe Rose. Thanks to Trip Advisor. The rooms were very clean and the decor a welcome to the southwest. The beds very comfortable. Although there were other guests we felt we had the place to ourselves. Then, to just walk through a door and into the restaurant what a way to end a long day on the road. Great food! The salmon was great and the green chili enchiladas were excellent and enough for lunch on the road the next day. It was so good, both the B&B and the restaurant that we stayed there on our way back. We will definitely be back!

We'd been traveling a few days visiting the New Mexico area and this was the last two days of our vacation. We wanted somewhere between Roswell and Carlsbad. Needless to say, we were pretty tired and trying to wind down. We were pleasantly surprised by how large and comfortable the room was and it had a separate living/dining room area with a mini fridge, sofa, microwave and table. The whole room was beautifully decorated and you could tell the owners took great pride in decorating the rooms. We felt right at home. Room had a flat screen TV, speakers, DVD player, full digital cable with all the movie channels, iron with full size ironing board, in room safe, and built in desk. We also had access to washer and dryer so we were able to wash a few days of dirty clothing, which was greatly appreciated. If we are in this area again, we will definitely stay here again.
