This Kibbutz hotel is situated almost on the border with Lebanon in the very North West corner of Israel. It’s one of the oldest and largest in the country. The views over the agricultural Hula Valley towards the Golan Heights and Mount Hermon are magnificent. Ask for a room facing the valley. Free Wi-Fi is provided but only in the main lobby. In UK rating terms, this would be a 2-3 star property, although the food makes it 4 star plus! There is a large indoor heated swimming pool and I also spotted an (empty) outdoor pool, presumably for the summer months.

We wouldn’t have thought to book into a Kibbutz ourselves; we stayed at Kfar Giladi as part of an El Al tour. We were just so glad of the opportunity to do so. Yes, the rooms here are rather tired and our bathroom was simply too small, but this was more than made up for by the most extraordinary dining experience; a cross between a school canteen and a cross-channel ferry – but with far better food! Naively, we had thought that hotel guests would eat separately to the Kibbutz members but no, we too ate in the same dining hall as this young and extremely vibrant crowd of families with plenty of children to add to the noisy atmosphere. Mostly it was all Hebrew spoken, very little English.

The food was really fresh; lots of vegetables and salads served canteen style, with some meat cooked to order. In the mornings, the food appeared even better; a fantastic array of hot food, breads, yogurts, cheeses, fruit and good coffee. This wonderful selection stretched from one end of the dining room to the other – quite something to see! Kfar Giladi provides an unusual stay in a fascinating setting, but one well worth the visit.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the Hula valley and Mount Hermon.

Two things stood out from a recent Fri-Sat stay at the Kfar Giladi hotel. We were lucky enough to have gotten a corner room in the Margolit Bldg that had a floor to ceiling window that looked out onto the Hula valley and Mount Hermon in the background. The views were enchanting as a storm moved in (see pics below). This more than made up for the Israeli style basic hotel room with its cramp bathroom (actually the door hits against the toilet seat), no WiFi in the room and stained carpeting in the corridors. However, the room was clean, the heating worked fine and there was complementary coffee/tea and a kettle in the room. The hotel also prides itself on the Spa and the variety of massages that it offers. My wife had one and said it was great, as well as a swim in the heated indoor pool. Both the Friday evening meal and breakfast on Saturday morning were much better than I expected. They contained a large selection from various cusines. However, the quality of the meat, especially the chicken, could have been better. There was live entertainment afterward provided by a group that sang the Beatles. Breakfast was again a pleasant surprise with a very large selection of dishes, many of them warm. The group guided tour of the kibbutz was cancelled due to to few people signing up. We arranged for a private tour utand were joined by another couple. This was the high point of our stay. The guide, called Torah, was excellent. We first viewed a recently produced movie that recounted the saga of the early pioneers and their relationships with their Arab neighbors, the French and later the British. It included their failures, fleeing and rebuilding the site. The room where the video is shown is where it all happened, as well as the adjacent court yard. Torah followed up with her own narratives. The climax of the tour was climbing through a hidden entrance into a secret arsenal of weapons from the Independence war, which the British never succeeded in finding. If you haven't held a Sten gun, this is your chance. We can highly recommend a weekend at the Kfar Giladi Hotel.

Room Tip: Arrive at Friday evening (Shabbat) dinner exactly at the openning time, not even 15 minutes later. I...

Last May we took a family vacation in Kfar Giladi Hotel.
High quality rooms and dining room, very pleasant staff and all in a semi intimate atmosphere.
However... the lack of activitys for young children (age 1.5-5) will make difficult to fully relax.
In addition, during the weekend or jewish holides most sites and restaurants is near by area are cloesed. If you are planing a family vacation with children most recommend to travel at least 2 familys and make sure to take some toys with you.
Overall, I will recommend this Hotel all year long.

Room Tip: If you are travling with a few family, ask for the rooms with door heading to the grassy area.

Great service, excellent rooms. The breakfast was very good. But the best thing in this hotel was the guided tour. The guide explained us all the history of the place, the foundation, the construction of the kibbutz, the heroes that died during the first years, including Jofesh Trumpleldor. Great experience!!!

The north of Israel is full of touristic attractions. We were looking for a hotel that will be a base for our trips planned for our group at the Jordan valley and Golan heights.
The hotel was the best we could find for our group. It is not a fancy 5 star hotel, and don't look for any luxury, but we enjoyed our 2 night stay. The rooms a little gloomy, mostly because of the dark furniture. The beds are comfortable. There are a big tv. with lots of chanels, an empty fridge you can use. Also a kettle with some tea and coffee bags. The main problem in the room is the service. We used our tea bags at the first night and nobody added new ones during the day. The bathroom is very small. No place around the sink to put accessories.
The hotel made of several buildings along a hillside on different levels, so there are stairs and elevators connecting them. Some of the elevators well hide and very slow. If you have mobility problems ask for room without stairs.
The covered pool and gym are very good with heated water. The food is good with nice choices. The view is fantastic and the air is fresh (at October).
We had three beautiful days touring the area and the hotel served us well, because we didn't had big expectation. There are only a few high standard hotels nearby, so that one is a good choice

As part of a group I spent 2 nights at this hotel. My room # 28 was near the main building. Beautiful park around the buildings. My room was clean, basic, but comfortable, with nice bathroom. WIFI worked well. Breakfast and dinner was OK.
Reminds me of a university campus, in a pleasant way.

The hotel is situated in Kibbutz Kfar Giladi. It has several building. From the rooms of most of them you have a spectacular view of the Upper Galilee mountains, of Mout Hermon, of the Hula valey and of the Golan Hights.
The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious. Ther is Telephone, TV, AC, refrigerator and Coffee/Tea makings in each room. Dinner and breakfast are sumptuous, with food of all kinds and amount. There is also a Bar and many activities in the hotel and a lot to do and see in the surrounding region and even in the kibutz itself.
As I was there because of my work I stays only one night (8 July), and I would love to come again for a longer stay.

Room Tip: If you have problems with staps ask to stay at the main bulding, it has elevators. If you want a gre...
