This gem is hidden in a narrow alley, offering an enormous variety of spices, candy and other goodies. Take the time to stroll in the different rooms, try the nuts and grains, dare to sample the odd looking sweets and check out the kitchen tools. Last but not least - get something for the folks back home!

I loved this place. The mill has been in one family for a number of generations and is still fully functional. The place is a wonderland of grain, ground spices, sweets, coffee and Israeli pottery. It was justifiably crowded with locals and tourists but a real treat for the senses. The name Babour is derived from vapour and refers to the steam seen when the mill was first mechanised.

While walking sidestreets from Mary's well to the Basilica of the Annunciation, we incidentally found this place. Through a ancient door, steps lead down to the shop - the owners are very friendly, easily available for a chat. The variety of spices s incredible - if you leave without buying some, you certainly will regret and decide to come back to do so.

My deep gratitude and thank you for thoughtful, caring and informative tour on December 2, 2013. Both Sylvia, our tour guide, and Zaki ( our driver) were always ahead of other tours giving us a VP treatment and passage turning a regular tour into unforgettable adventure. It is so important to be at the places for a moment alone to absorb a history. Thank you for the VP Tour.

After reading the few reviews of this shop available here, I went looking for this shop in Nazareth and I found it. It is tucked away in a little turn off the road just past mary's well, and if you blink, you will miss it. But, if you find it, the smell and taste of the spices are divine. I bought a lot. Those that I regularly use like cardamom, coriander, tumeric, curry, thyme and so much more, and those less familiar like falafel and fried chicken. The staff were particularly helpful, encouraging me to sniff and taste and experience. It was a truly sense opening experience. If you are ever in Nazareth, stop in this is truly a unique little shop and it has been there for 100 years.
