On the way home from a day trip in the North of Israel, we decided to take an early dinner in Nazereth and hoped to find a good Middle East cuisine restaurant.
Last time we visited Nazereth, we dined at the "famous" Diana restaurant, and that was unfortunately a total waste of time and money.
By chance, we found the El Janina restaurant, which was recommended by a local as being a tasty place to eat. We were a little "worried" to find the restaurant almost empty when we arrived there, but were assured that this was only due to the time of day and time of year (Easter). In fact, during our two hours of culinary pleasure at the El Janina, we noticed that they also send out food - "noticed" meaning a virtual continuous line of people coming to the restaurant and taking delicacies home - again and again and again.
Our dinner was excellent. Fresh, tasty, delicious. Our most kind and efficient waiter rendered us with a most warm welcome and was most most courteous throughout the meal.
All salads and meat were extremely tasty, and reminded me of the "good old days" and tastes of the past.
I will surely return to this restaurant, and thoroughly recommend it to anyone looking for a wonderful welcome and excellent meal in Nazereth ! Thank you.
