Tishreen means October in Arabic. The legend says that it was opened in October some 15 years ago by two young ambitious young men who still run the place to date and have recently opened "tishreen 2" in the neighboring nazareth Illit. This restUrNt was the first out of the many restaurants that are putting nazareth in the culinary map of Israel and the region. The food in tishreen is great, never disappointing and always surprising, characterized by fusing eastern food with worldwide trends. The staff is very friendly, the atmosphere very relaxing and the prices affordable. It is recommended to book a place in advance, especially on weekend as the place has become very popular among tourists and Jewish guests coming to nazareth, beside the locals who feel at home there

I traveled to Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Nazareth etc but did not get better food than at Tishreen. Simply amazing and with a twist to local dishes that added that extra dash. The liver with mashed potatoes was out of this world, the best i have ever had. Even simple things like hummus were done in a unique way. The portions are quite large so order carefully. From the drinks to the appetizers to the salad and the mains, every food and drink item was just about perfect. The place has a very warm and friendly ambience, very causal and cosy. The service was impeccable and our request to turn down the music was accepted very kindly. I loved this place and if I am ever in Nazareth again i would eat at least a couple of times at Tishreen.

my experience to this restaurant was strange! I will speak of it in overall ...i searched for the new Tishreen on tripadvisor but i couldn't find it , so i will speak of my experience in both of them here .
Tishreen No.1 in Nazareth : the only thing i liked there is the service, the building itself is an old house very nice with wood tables and chairs..each one who enters will feel our palestenian authenic spirit. as an atchitect i wouldn't have add the beam on the ceilings and i would've left the walls the same as it was in the old days with little restoration touches nothing more. but more than that nothing special. the space is very small and each word you say the table next to you hears it! no privacy what so ever!!
Tishreen No.2 in Nazareth ellit : is the hardest experience ever ..first in order to call another restaurant the same name and make it a chain , you should have at least the same food! but the food is totaly different . i will explain a little bit about the building , the building is industrial design all of it is glass( the exterior) , the interior space all of it done with new materials except one wall made from "fire stone or in arabice Nari stone" with fake arches windows that symbols our authentic houses in the old city of Nazareth! for me the way i see it , its a big play and making fun of our palestenian traditional historical buildings by coping this wall inside a very modern building...and calling its kitchen "palestenian kitchen" !

This is a lovely restaurant with great Arab-Palestinian food for veggies and others. Portions are large so order three courses for two and have a sweet as well. Waiters have good English and are helpful.

Had the salmon fillet and an eggplant with tahini appetizer. Very tasty, but a little highly priced.
