“The best fish restaurant in Netanya”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 May 2012

Ever since we've arrived in Netanya, this is the number one restaurant for us to visit. We simply love it there. We are made to feel like King and Queen - the owners and staff always make such a fuss of us and we always have a laugh there too. It's very comfortable in this restaurant, inside or outside. All the staff are very caring but Eva is someone special, she really takes an interest in everyone and nothing is too much for her - she's very attentive and very kind. The service is excellent. The meals are always beautifully presented and all very delicious. Recently, they have started serving meat dishes as well as various fish dishes. The atmosphere is always friendly and the background music soothing. Many parties are held there and it's always lively and so pleasant. I can highly recommend this restaurant which just has that "personal touch". We have never had any reason to complain about anything!!

“Disappointing”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 July 2010

Small amounts of food (not like advertised on the internet). Asked for fresh orange drink, was given orange squash. One tiny salad for three people, minimal vegetables with main meal. Was not given any change and embarrassingly had to ask for it.

“Fish restaurant fish no frills”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 November 2008

This is a small restaurant on Nitza Boulevard across the road from the Mediterranean. Personally run and supervised by the owner, Moshe, it offers a large range of fish at moderate prices. Go at lunchtime and enjoy the same menu as a 3-course meal at an even lower price. The main waitress is a gem who speaks Hebrew, English and French and nothing is too much trouble for her. No tablecloths here, simple paper mats and you can eat inside in an air-conditioned environment or outside by the side of the road. The menu is in Hebrew and English and the sloe is not hawthorn but a misprint of sole.

Opt for the starter of a wide range of Israeli-style salads, you get a lot of them for 5 shekels and they come with hot crusty bread. The main courses are fish, of course, grilled or fried, on the bone or filleted. No sea food, of course, because this restaurant is kosher. Many fish in Israel have different names to elsewhere, but there is salmon, trout, bream, bass, cod and sole amongst others. Some come with vegetables of your choice and some with a generous sized Israeli salad. The home-made white sauce for the fish, served in a jug, is an absolute must and they will sell it to you when you go home along with your doggie bag. POrtions are very generous, couples with small appetites might be advised to split a main course between them.

There is, usually, an evening fixed price 3-course menu. The desserts consist of watermelon (in season), fresh fruit salad or steamed chocolate pudding, served free with all meals. For normal meals, not business lunches or specials, go to eLuna online and print off a 10% discount voucher, also available to locals who are members of AACI or HOB, local organisations.

A word of caution on paying. By all means pay with a credit card, but reward the staff with cash tips to make sure they get all of it. They do pool the tips.

The restaurant is open until very late at night Sunday through Thursday, closed on Friday, and open after darkness (end of sabbath) on Saturday night. Occasionally there is live jazz music inside.
