“FIT FOR DEMOLITION OR A MAJOR REFURBISHMENT”
Reviewed 4 June 2014

Since staying there 35 years ago, either our standards have improved or the King Solomon's have fallen - seriously. It is not even cheap! This is worse than a budget hotel - everything about it is tatty. The lobby, the restaurant, the rooms, the swimming pool area. The so called "no smoking" rooms even have ashtrays!!

Breakfast of tasteless rolls and congealed scrambled egg (how long had it been heated over?)

The only positive things are that it had superb Wi-Fi, great views over the sea and is near to the town centre.

This hotel needs a major refurbishment or complete demolition.

We stayed at this hotel as part of a tour group. The location provided a beautiful view of the Mediterranean Sea and a seaside public space, but the property itself and our room in particular was definitely in need of some updating. It was just plain worn out. The sliding door to the balcony didn't lock, the bathroom door didn't close all the way, and the room wasn't all that clean. Nothing drastic, just unimpressive in any way except the view from the balcony. With a little investment, this property could be revived. But until that time, I wouldn't rate it highly.

I visited Netanya in 1993, 2006 and 2008 it was in 2008 that I stayed on the 6th floor of this hotel.

It was comfortable, secure and quiet the meals were first class. The staff were pleasant and spoke English. I could not fault this hotel in any way.

This hotel had a great location, right across from the beach. The food was good. The rooms were dated and did not feel clean. But, we forgot all about that when we opened the door to our balcony and slept to the sounds of the ocean.

Stayed at the King Solomon as part of a group. The hotel is set on a quiet cliff top, with magnificent views over gardens and sea shore and has improved greatly since our last visit 2 years ago. The hard working, multi-tasking staff are very friendly and helpful. Our spotlessly clean room had been refurbished with new carpet and king sized bed, linens changed every day - we asked for extra towels which were happily supplied. We didn't like the lumpy foam pillows though. The bathroom had a bath and a new large head power shower, piping hot water all day and night, though we hated the wall mounted pump for shower gel. Too early in the year for the pool to open, but will be magnificent once the summer begins. The hotel is very popular and busy, but plenty of lounge and bar chairs and a great atmosphere. The included Israeli breakfast is fresh and tasty - would prefer fresh orange juice - and an excellent start for a day's touring. For the price charged and the service given, the King Solomon must be the best value in Israel - we can't wait for our next visit!

Room Tip: All rooms face the ocean, but higher have better views and are quieter

This hotel is located on hill overlooking a small beach park on the Mediterranean coast north of Tel Aviv. The hotel is just across the street with a beautiful view of the sea especially the higher rooms. It is right in the center of a crowded hotel zone. Staff was verify friendly and helpful. Food was delicious and ample quantities and selections available. Rooms clean and well furnished although somewhat small. There was a small gym, hot tub and pool that we did not use. Elevators are small and service is slow so stay on lower floors and take stairs. This is an excellent location to stay your first or last night in Israel near the airport. It seems also well suited for locals wanting to be close to the beach and beach actitivies. I would rate it a solid 2 1/2 star and would say again on a tour of Israel. Free fast internet service available in all rooms which is unusual for Israel.

Stayed one night after late arrival at Tel Aviv and out early the next morning. Great breakfast, but espresso came from a machine instead of fresh made. Comfortable room and bed--as other reviewers have stated, this is a dated hotel and could use some sprucing up. But, if you're only after a quiet, restful night in a nice sized, clean room, this is a good place. Also the view from apparently every room is stunning--west-facing over the sea and the coastline.
