“Great stay”

We came here after staying in Tel Aviv and Tiberias. Just a place to stay. But what a place! Fantastic owners and breakfasts to die for. My wife is a troublesome coeliac, unable to eat any food containing wheat flour but the owners coped with this without any trouble. We also had a common hobby of making fruit flavoured white spirits. Love from Keith and Pat from Crete

I booked a double room, but the owner offered us a "twin" when my daughter and I arrived. I said that was great. But our room was NOTHING like the ones pictured. It was a glorified hostel room. No terrace or dining area as promised on the booking site. We had no table except a very sketchy one folded up on a hinge on the wall. A little fridge and kumkum in a nook in the wall. Pretty uncomfortable twin beds that were so light they kept moving when we sat on them. The bathroom was barely usable, there was a very tiny basin for a sink with a large faucet that literally extended out so that water flooded the floor. We could not rinse our faces in it, or brush our teeth without dripping on our feet, and we never managed to get hot water even though we were warned that hot was cold and cold was hot in the faucet.
The owner is nice and the property is pretty with all the herbs and flowers, but paying $90 a night for that was not cool.

Room Tip: Be sure to look at the room before you agree to it.

Riki, the owner, was extremely gracious and made me feel right at home. She was super helpful and full of suggestions. She definitely pointed me in the right direction concerning restaurant options, site seeing, wine tasting, etc. The inn is nicely located as it's offers easy access to Safed town while avoiding its higher prices. Go for the breakfast, everything is fresh and homemade. Rent a car and use it as home base to explore the region. You won't be disappointed.

Following Riki the innkeeper's clear directions, we drove to the Safed Inn atop Mt. Canaan. Our top-floor room was immaculately clean, charming and breezy. Good mattress and cozy bedding for the cool mountain night.Tall mini-fridge and coffee/tea center in room. Full Israeli breakfast included Riki's own homemade cheeses, breads & jams---fantastic!!!! We only stayed one night but would LOVE to go back.

My sister was here to visit me, and we made last-minute plans to stay in the Safed area - - found the "Safed Inn" online and decided to go for it. We arrived in the early evening and were greeted by Riki, the owner. We were welcomed like "Family", and she walked us through the beautiful forested gardens of the property. Our room was spacious, SO CLEAN, and with a fresh pine-scented breeze coming through our windows. We loved the "Kitchy-ness" of the decore, and were thrilled to be staying somewhere that had CHARACTER, instead of a chain/brand-hotel. We sat outside at one of the tables and played a few rounds of UpWords, drove in to Rosh Pinna and returned later in the evening to our totally comfy, fresh beds. The rooms is stocked with coffee/tea and bottled water and a refridge, so we put our "snacks" in there for the next day. We ordered the Israeli Breakfast - - so SPECIAL! Homemade jams, olives, cheeses. It was a total pleasure. EVERYTHING they do is from the heart - - really BIG hearts, and you can feel that the place is cared for with love and intention. IT IS "Kitchy" - - in such a sweet way. We were so pleased by the mountain-top location and took a nice hilly walk in the afternoon. Our only "regret was that we couldn't say longer!!!

My husband had stayed here 35 years ago and wanted to stay again. We stayed in a private room with bath. It was like a suite , a big room divided into bedroom and sitting area. It was clean and comfortable. It had a refrigerator too. The garden was beautiful. The owners were very friendly and helpful. We stayed for 3 nights and as they suggested we had a rental car so we could go on a day trip to the Galilee. We took a taxi into town. It was nice to be outside of town, quiet and peaceful.

I am a professional Israeli tour guide but this time was working with my family who came from New Zealand, Israel and England. The range of ages was from 2 years to nearly 80 and the time of the year was Passover when prices in Israel are outrageous and I was so relieved to find the Safed Inn. We are traditional but not Orthodox and the level of Passover observance was sufficient for us. We arrived, a group of over 30 people and Riki and Dov could not have been kinder nor more helpful. The rooms were comfortable and clean, the open spaces were wonderful, the breakfast was delicious and all of us were delighted. It helped make our trip. Many, many thanks.
I do feel you need a car but perhaps not during the week. We had ample parking for our bus.
