My daughter, her friend and I stayed for Shabbat in the guesthouse. If all you need is a place to sleep and get cleaned up, this will work for you. The room does have a funky smell, but you can't beat the location. Laurie's hospitality and directions were the best!

Laura provided precise written directions as navigating Safed's nooks and crannies can be quite confusing at times. Bathroom is small and Laurie did inform of of this; you have to go through the shower part to reach the toilet, but this really is not a problem when you are using a vacation rental. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with plenty of power outlets to charge up our devices. Laurie also knows the area well and provided excellent information on unique kosher dining experiences within the city. You can see pictures and more info here:

Great hostess who was accommodating to our needs.

Apartment is a beautiful area - in the midst of the artist colony - and only a couple minute walk from town.

The apartment has all you need to enjoy Tzfat - a nice sized bed and an outdoor setting to help to soak up the spiritual feel of its surroundings.

okay, this one's a little bit difficult to score. Some things ar nice, some things aren't. The room is quit smelly. It could be the smell of cat's urine or the smell of moist. There are some cats around the house and the bathroom (very, very small) has no rooms. so the smell in the room is not okay. We also found the room too expensive given the fact of what you're getting for it. Bed is also quite small to sleep in with two people. What's nice about is, is the fact that you sleep in a resident and this has the feel of really being in safed. Besides the owner is very nice and gave us some really goods hints about hiking options. We did the trail of 6 hours, starting down the cemetery and all the way in the valley oposit. You can hike back to Safed on this one. Safed itself is a really nice little gem where you can wonder around during daytime.

My husband and I normally stay with friends but we found ourselves in last minute need of a Zimmer since our contacts were booked! I found Laurie online and rang her up on the phone. She gave me all the relevant information, emailed me pictures immediately, and even set us up with a neighbor for a Shabbat meal. The room was very clean and spacious, we even had access to the courtyard where we could take in the beautiful sunset overlooking Mt. Meron. The Zimmer was centrally located so it was easy to walk just about anywhere. And the coffee & milk were a nice bonus for my husband and I to find! The entire experience was a comfortable, affordable, and friendly way to spend a Shabbat in Tzfat. Highly recommended!

We spent three evenings at the Rappeport Guest House in Tzfat this past July. The owner was fantastic as we were given information about the town that one could not easily obtain from reading a brochure. Upon arrival we were greeted as if we had known one another for several years instead of just sending emails back and forth. From the time we settled in we felt at home. The room(s) were nice; we knew beforehand that we were not staying at the Ritz or any other plush hotel. Everything we needed was there for us including a more than adequate air conditioner as the days were very warm and humid. We slept comfortably. Yes, the bathroom/shower was a tight fit but this was made aware to us before we arrived; the web site and previous guests had spoken of the situation. Although there is a small bedroom off of the main bedroom we used the area only to store our luggage. One thing to note is that there are lots of steps to go up to the main road or, for that matter, to go anywhere in the small town. We managed. We were also told about the various restaurants in town and all of the shops and where to go and what to see. Our time and expenses were well spent. I would do it again.
