We are leaving the Artists' Colony Inn tomorrow and already I'm feeling homesick for this lovely place. Our room (the "Lianna") had a private porch, a jacuzzi and a reading loft. The hosts, Susan and Danny, were SO helpful in helping us plan our travels and we had a wonderful day today after following their suggestions. Breakfast is just right and the atmosphere is laid back, picturesque, and comfortable.

Danny and Susan make the most wonderful hosts - thoughtful, caring, but not intrusive. This peaceful little b and b in Tzvat has lovely views of the mountains but is near to the artist's colony and is in the old 'arab quarter', very near the old 'jewish quarter'. I can't say enough about this little inn - the beds were super comfortable, lovely balconies with every room, tasteful and lovely in every way! Very peaceful and personal place to rest and visit Tzvat; have already recommended to other travelers.

My wife and I spent 3 nights at this very small inn as part of a 3 week trip around Israel and southern Jordan. Our room included a private entrance, a loft with 2 comfortable chairs, a table and chairs outside the front door, and lounge chairs. The room had an unusual layout, but it provided plenty of space to move around, good places to sit, and the plumbing was fine.

While we enjoyed the room, it paled in comparison to the experience of staying with Susan and Danny. They were amazing hosts - so much so that we felt more like visiting friends than paying guests. It was simply a joy to be in the common room, which is where breakfast was served, but also where people hung out, to share time with them and the other guests. In addition to a variety of typical breakfast items (including an espresso machine that was always available), Susan and Danny cooked up something special for each breakfast, which introduced us to Israeli dishes we had never seen before. They were also great teachers -- they never seemed to tire of our many questions about Safed and Orthodox traditions, etc. and answered them clearly without ever proselytizing. We learned so much. I really cannot express how much we enjoyed our time there -- it was among the best experiences we had in Israel.

My wife and I spent 3 weeks in Israel of which 4 days were in the beautiful peaceful city of Tzfat. The Artist Colony Inn was one of the highlights. Terrific accommodations, clean, roomy, great views and privacy when needed.

What made our stay the best was the way Susan and Danny Zehavi treated us. To say they are outstanding would be an understatement. They are warm, kind, smart and giving. We felt like they are now family and the kind you love to spend time with. Spending time in a Holy place, with Holy people is a treat we cherished.

Being treated like royality made our 4 days in Tzfat very special. We will most definetly stay with the them again on our next trip.

Cannot recommend the place and Susan and Danny enough.

My husband and I could not have been more pleased with the hospitality extended to us during our stay at this charming inn. Susan and Danny provided an excellent opportunity to learn about Safed and the surrounding locale. Our morning breakfast was an extraordinary taste of local flavors and the conversation was the highlight of our stay. Consider staying here if you want a warm, inviting experience these gracious hostess and host.

We spent just one night at the Artist's Colony Inn in Sfat, but it was an absolutely wonderful stay. The accommodations are beautiful, but a small part of why we are writing this review. What made our time so very memorable was the special treatment from our hosts Susan and Danny Zehavi. Their care was more than professional; it was more like one would hope to receive from family, only without the tsouris!

Arriving late on a Friday afternoon, we were unprepared for Shabbat - in Israel’s most spiritual community, everything is closed, including all markets, restaurants, and public transportation.
On Friday evening, unexpected circumstances prompted my need for urgent medical care. Within seconds, and without violating Shabbat, Danny & Susan arranged for me to be taken to the local hospital, where I received prompt and excellent medical intervention.
The next morning, we received an extraordinary breakfast, and enjoyed the friendly atmosphere of the inn. Later, Susan and Danny invited us into their home and introduced us to guests of theirs from Canada and we enjoyed time with them and all their children.
They are very thoughtful and intelligent people. Talking to them was certainly among our favorite things we did in our long-awaited trip to Israel. We give the Inn and hosts the highest recommendation.

Sincerely,

Chuck and Lisa Wintner

You cannot go wrong with this wonderful gem. Beautiful setting, beautiful old building, brilliantly updated. Arriving at the Artist Colony Inn is like stepping back into time, but with all the amenities of the the 21st century. You can have your breakfast high on a secluded balcony overlooking the green hills. The hosts, Susie and Danny, are the key that makes this B and B outstanding. They make you feel very special and right at home. The breakfast was wonderful and the location was ideal. Free internet. It was also an excellent value. This was the nicest place we stayed in Israel. Highly, highly recommended
