While staying at the nearby Canaan Spa Hotel my brother-in-law and I decided to walk towards the Biriya forest. The area is well shaded with many trees planted during the last decades. We made our way up to the visitor’s center at Biriya Fortress. The place is an important landmark in the Jewish settlement of Israel. From the fortress lookout tower we enjoyed the endless green. There are four great walking trails towards Naburiya and the tomb of Yonatan Ben Uziel, one leads to Safed, one leads to Ein Yavnit and one that goes down to Mitzpe Amuka. We decided to come back and explore more!
