“Good value, sparse rooms, convenient location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 July 2013

We only stayed here for one night. We were in a dorm room that was clean and very comfortable and quiet. The way the dorm rooms are designed means you have more privacy than at most hostels. The bathroom was very spacious.

We didn't have too much to do with the staff but they did seem quite friendly and helpful and kindly stored our bags for the day after we checked out and went sightseeing.

The hostel rent bikes out for 70NIS for a day which is pretty good value.

Location wise it is only about a block back from the water and quite close to the market and walking distance from the central bus station.

We stayed here for one night to break up the journey from the Dead Sea to Haifa. There was free, gated parking for our rental car next door which was handy. Our room was large and clean, and it had a meager view of the Sea of Galilee. The hotel was only a short walk from the waterfront restaurants and shops. For the price we paid we thought it was a great value!

The room we were given was dirty had broken furniture. I didn't feel clean sleeping in the bed and the shower was broken so the shower head was just laying in the tub. We had to keep our luggage off the floor because there was some sort of leak and there was water all over the floor. The only redeeming quality was our balcony that overlooked the sea. We spent most of our time out there.

OK, first I hope this is for the Aviv Hostel/Hotel as there is another property right next door with a similar name.

This hotel provided me with a private room for $50/night for three nights on the top floor. My room looked over the Seas of Galilee. Such a view I will never forget! Not only that, but it was right in the downtown 'Old City' where I could easily walk to the many stores and restaurants. And look over the 'Tiberias lights'. Oh and I had free parking for my rental car. Sure while I was there it looked like there was some construction and if you want a five start hotel with full service, pampering, and a full western globe trotting pampering style, don't go here. But if you are travelling on your own and such, this is the ho(s)tel for you!

Suffice it to say that I was well pleased with my stay here, no there wasn't breakfast, but it met all my needs while I was there.

p.s. There was microwave, A/C, and private bathroom/shower as well.

Room Tip: Make sure they give you one of the top floor rooms. p.s. I stayed in the last three days of Octob...

Hi, My stay at the Aviv Hostel was more than a pleasant experience, the owner and the staff members were always ready to help, advise and assist any request with a great smile, the Hostel is located a five minutes walk from the Central Bus Station, two minutes from the Old City and Harbour of the Sea of Galilee. The room was very very spacious, even has a "room within the room" with a door to separated both sides for some privacy, it has two TV' sets, two A/C's, a BIG refrigerator, night tables, kettle and nice big washroom with a BATHTUB (rarely see one in the hostels), closet, a balcony with a spectacular view to the S of G. The room is always clean (since day one), nice bed, clean sheets (everyday), very comfortable to sleep on. The Hostel offers services such as free computer and WiFi, Rent a Bike (for males and females, providing: lock, helmet and services if you need assistance on the road) to explore the city and the attractions around the S of G: Water Park, Spas, Baptisms Area, Capernaum, etc., (The person at the reception is always ready to explain you how to get to these places, how long it will take, or if you would preferred to take the bus, etc) after long day walking, hiking, shopping or biking you can indulge yourself in the swimming pool (semi-Olympic size, clean, safe and 90% no one is there) and literally relax and let your body to recharge (check the times of closing, towels are available and free of charge); The Breakfast (optional) is really good and buffet style with many options to pick up. Aviv Hostel is perfectly located to all your activities in Tiberias and about, The personnel at the reception will help you to organized your day and they are going to call to verified any reservation/request/availabilities for you, they are really really friendly. They will run the extra mile for you and make your stay very very pleasant as mine was.

Room Tip: Room with Balcony has the best view of S of G.
