“good value for money but”
Reviewed 6 May 2014

we decided to go for is one, as we spent a lot in Dead sea area, the room was spacious, with separate (with bit too few kitchen tools and glasses, if family bigger than 1+1, decide to come and pot, and pan. so minimum, )kitchinette, and separate bathroom, The bed was really comfortable, sheets perfectly clean, but there was some bizzare smell n the corridor and the breakfast was in different hitel near by. on the other hand they had parking place (private) and quite ok internet, which for youg professionals on holiday is a must ;) And - yes it is not so close to the Gaille sea - (reasonable walking distance of few hundred mates),which can be seen from balcony, so it's comfortably calm, but still close to this few monuments Tiberias has .

The answer is when it is a hostel. That was my dilemma before we got there. This hostel has a split personality. It tries to be a hotel and a hostel. The real Aviv Hotel is a stones throw away to the east and looks more upmarket. However this proved to be really good value and our double room was very comfortable and made a good base for exploring the Sea of Galilee. We arrived on shabat, the Jewish Sabbath which makes life a little difficult if you want a bus. We travelled by taxi to Capernaum, which was 80 shekels from the hotel but 100 shekels on the way back. The staff here were very helpful and on the day we were leaving, we were able to leave our bags and pick them up later. As per previous reviews, the breakfast in the adjacent hotel was excellent. But beware the café restaurant opposite the entrance, no prices on show and they seek to maximise their takings from tourists. I would advise you to query the price of the food before you sit down. All in all though we were very happy with our adventure in Tiberias and the Aviv Hotel/ hostel was fine.

Room Tip: It would be nice to have a room facing the lake but our room had a decent view of the galilee hills

Will stay here again no problem despite the basic qualities. Never expected much so no disappointments. Not sure about food options as what I saved was spent eating in nice restaurants close to base. Tried their bike hirer- two punctures (probably from previous bad repairs. Stay clear of this service!) They did attend to my requests and gave helpful advice as needed regarding travel etc. Not bad place overall.

You may choose between "hostel" dorm rooms and more standard "hotel" rooms. We were a group of five and got a six bed dorm by ourselves, simple rooms with good beds, balcony and refrigerator. The cheapest night on our trip around Israel. And the breakfast next door is great! The only drawback was the bathroom floor that was filled with water after the first shower and never dried up...

I walked in after driving around all day and interrupted the manager/ owner having a smoke, but he didn't mind and was very friendly! I asked for a single room and he gave me a free upgrade to a room with a massive balcony over looking the city which was great! Really made my day! The breakfast next door is good value too.

This place is ok for the night, spacious rooms, decent beds and an overwhelming big breakfast (worth the extra ILS80).
End of November is a quite time to travel in Tiberias, the staff was also quite. When asking for something, it felt like I disturbed them watching their favorite soap. Also, from minute 1 staff called me 'friend', but that is probably a personal shrug.
The hairs on the bathroom floor, some spots of unknown origine in the sheets and the overall 'cold' atmosphere in the ho(s)tel will not get me here again anytime soon. But then again: I did not pay top dollar and it might have been a lot better when there where more people around.

We staid for one night just to be close to the start of the bike tour early next morning.
The room (101) was good in size, ac was o.k and tv as well. The room was quite clean, but looked old and a bit worn out. There is a room to leave your bike in for the night. We didn't stay for breakfast so we can't say anything about that. All in all we payed for the cheapest room around and got good value for our money.

Room Tip: 101 was o.k but had tween bads.
