“Loved the location”
Reviewed 5 September 2013

I stayed in this hotel for 4 days before going on to Jerusalem. I was part of an organised tour with God TV.
When I first arrived I was unhappy with the room that frankly had not been cleaned from the last person & the bedding smelled. There was a view of the Sea of Gallilee (if you stood on a chair!). Although I had to stay there that night my room was changed the next morning & I was given one with a great view & a balcony. The private beach area was a great place to 'chill' on our return from touring the surrounding areas. The food was all freshly prepared & although buffet style, was very good. I enjoyed my time there - staff were pleasent & I felt they dealt well with my complaint.

Room Tip: Seems to be a bit of a lottery - as some of the people on our trip were very happy with their rooms...

Highly recommended on the shores of lake Kinneret. Spacious, clean and comfortable room with balcony, wonderful view of the lake don't miss the spectacular sunrise. Pool and private lake beach were great. The highlight was the food great variety and delicious. While the hotel is right near the centre it is quiet. Liked the old world charm of the furnishings and the friendly and helpful staff made our stay perfect. Looking forward to returning with all the family next time

I cannot understand the reviews that "love" this place. Are these people being paid by the hotel to write them? Or, are some of the employees writing them?

It is a dirty "motel" with Waldorf Astoria prices. The rooms are tiny, dirty and dingy. The air-conditioning for the rooms shuts off when the door is opened and is ALSO controlled by a motion sensor in the room. So, even if your door is closed, but don't move around much in your sleep, your air conditioning shuts off during the night and you start to sweat. I had to ask to have the motion sensor disabled. For the price of the room, they should let you determine how cold you would like to keep it, especially since the hallways are not air conditioned.

The rooms are disgusting; there are cracks in the walls and ceilings, scuff marks and dirt all over the walls and are in need of a paint job. The bathroom is so small, you can't even turn around in it. The mat in the bathroom was FILTHY and looked like it hadn't been washed all summer. The white bed linens are "gray" and were dirty when we arrived. There isn't even an alarm clock in the room. Does the management think that guests paying these prices are going to steal a $5 alarm clock? The entire place is in need of a MAJOR renovation.

The staff seems more interested in talking to other staff members or their friends, and are completely disinterested in helping the guests. Many of them act so arrogant that it seems like they know that they are ripping you off. Also, the place is so crowded that you cannot hear your own conversation during breakfast.

Obviously the owners of the hotel are more about profits than accommodations. The entire place is an example of "cheapness!"

I appreciate good hotels and great service, and don't mind spending the money for it, but this is possibly one of the worst places that I have EVER stayed and it should be AVOIDED AT ALL COSTS!

Rimonim Galei Kinnereth Hotel is a very ancient hotel in Tiberius hotels landscape and scenery all hotels in Israel in particular.
Located on the Sea of Galilee. The hotel has modern spa facilities, swimming pool (quite small), and the adjacent beach.
The hotel lobby classical European style and luxury transmitter. There are signs of aging to the lobby furniture and it seems that soon will need to renew the furniture.
Meals served at the hotel are very tasty. The dishes presentation is very aesthetic and organized. It seems that Chef uses quality raw materials but diversity is not more than average according to Israeli standards, and therefore it seems too low relative to the price level of the hotel. Dishes and a choice of health corner are especially good.
Rooms are located in two buildings. I stayed at the new spa wing with spectacular view of the Sea of Galilee. Rooms are simply decorated, simplicity is particularly striking compared to the decorated lobby. There are minor maintenance problems in rooms that do not receive forgiveness at boutique hotels such as Galei Kinnereth. Rooms corridors are not air-conditioned, an amazing thing considering the average temperature during summer around the hotel.
As I understand, not all rooms face the sea and therefore I recommend to book the rooms in the spa wing who face the sea
The level of cleanliness in the rooms is Reasonable. Level of cleanliness in public areas is not good enough, especially around the time of closing the pool and in the evening at the lobby.
In my opinion Hotel Galei Kinnereth leans as he could about the history and glorious past of the hotel although sometimes it seems that the present is not consistent with the past and with the desire to preserve the heritage. Hotel renovation a few years ago certainly given a boost ahead to the hotel but in my opinion, it is necessary to further refresh of the structure and design of the rooms and improving the level of inspection of staff.
However, the hotel is a good option to stay in Tiberias, but the overall level does not justify the high cost.

Never ever - ever - spent so much money on a hotel and been more upset and dissppointed. From check-in to the awful dirty room - poorly decorated and small, to missing light bulbs, to shocking front desk and concierge assistance and so I could go on and on. A disaster. Management should have been more caring and professional when they saw us experience one disaster after the other. Maybe a two-star rating!!! The only positive comment is that the location is beautiful on the Kinneret, with a good dining facility and the spa is excellent.

Tiberias and this wonderful hotel were my first experience in Israel. The hotel is absolutely lovely. Fantastic breakfast and dinner. (We were out all day, so don't know about lunch.) Facilities accommodate Kosher requirements. Hammocks on the wide lawn offer lovely, breezy relaxation. Music at the patio bar at night. Shabbat activities for kids.

The view across the Sea of Galilee was unspoiled, with just a few lights at night.

Room Tip: Our 4th floor room faced the sea, so close you could throw a rock into it. I don't know if other...

This Hotel had a great view of the Sea of Galilee. We sat out on the patio of the Hotel and enjoyed the view. The swimming pool was olympic size. Beautiful hot tub in a separate biuilding.
It is so relaxing there. Our food was great and service was super. The staff was very friendly. All spoke English.Rooms were clean. The lighting in the room was not great.
We were to leave at 2 am per taxi to the airport. The people at the hotel had coffee and other drinks with snacks served to us before we left. They helped load our luggage into the taxi..

Room Tip: Try to get a room that gives you a good view of the Sea of Galilee. The rooms do have balconies so yo...
