I would rate this hotel as very good for the area, but only average by most standards.

We stayed two nights as we were touring the Christian, Jewish and Roman historic sites in this area. This hotel is an excellent location for touring in the area. Tiberias is not a very interesting town, and there didn't appear to be any hotels remotely close to the quality of the Scots Hotel. Because we were touring, we didn't use any of the hotel's facilities (such as the bar or the spa) but we ate two very good breakfasts here - wide variety with very good quality. Excellent. We also had dinner here one night, which was good.

As others have reported, there are three different buildings here, and we booked the oldest, which has the larger rooms, some of which, including ours, have a view of the lake. The room furnishings were adequate.

The service was professional and courteous.

The best choice in all of the Galilee region. Rooms are spacious, staff is friendly and attentive and the breakfast is amazing. The view and the weather this time of the year is marvelous. Prices are quite expensive but for luxury you have to pay. Highly recommended.

My family must travel with a licensed medical service dog, which is extremely well behaved. The dog is welcomed through out Israel and must accompany a patient everywhere. This is the ONLY hotel in Israel that threw us out.

The hotel reception watched while the hotel goons demanded we leave despite having a medical need for the dog supported by licenses registration. The goon then mocked us when we tried to explain. Kept telling us that it is "the law", although the dog has been welcomed in any other hotel we visited in tel aviv, jerusalem and Haifa. The manager then gave us a false name. Bottom line, this hotel will not only embarrass people with medical issues but will kick them out for it. Worst hotel in Israel. If you're smart, stay in tel aviv and visit this town for a day.

The hotel is located in the north exit from Tiberias and the grounds are totally amazing. Staff is kind and helpful and the room was nice and spacious. The breakfast is one of the best we had in hotels. The only cons was the high price. Guess if you want a good hotel in Tiberias you have to pay:/

If you find yourself in Tiberias this is the only nice hotel in town. The rooms were ok, but not a great value given the price.

The service was spotty as well and the front desk was extremely rude to us when we complained about the communal iron ruining my husband's shirt as we were getting ready for a wedding. For a hotel of this class, they should listen to their customers better.

The grounds are superb as well as the food - the included breakfast is to die for - lots of homemade pastries, egg dishes, fresh fruits, vegetables, jams, etc. They even have homemade honey.
