Stayed at this hotel last week during my trip to the north. I had been confused about some of the activities that we were set to do there, the customer service rep at the front desk named Edgar was extremly patient with me and was an amazing help. The hotel was extremely accommodating to all our needs. If your looking for a quiet hotel away from the main city centre this is the hotel to go to. The hotel is only a 5 min drive though from all the action that Tiberias has to offer, so dont let their quiet location fend you off.

The Golan Hotel in Tiberias offers a wonderful view over the Sea of Galilee. It is well located for the visitors interested in this area of the Holy Land. The hotel also offers very good breakfast and dinner. It has a nice terrace and a very clean and beautiful swimming pool which, even in the off season, are of great beauty. Highly recommended especially for groups.

Our tour group stayed two nights in this hotel. The rooms are large enough and all have a nice view on the lake, but they're not that new anymore. We liked sitting in the bar overlooking the lake. The food is okay and the staff is really friendly.

The Golan Hotel is situated in Tiberias overlooking the western shores of the Sea of Galilee. Consequently, it's in a good position for visitors and pilgrims to explore the northern (Galilee) area of the Holy Land. The hotel is conveniently located for Nazareth, Cana, Mount Tabor, Mount of Beatitudes, Mount Carmel...

Whilst the furniture and fittings may look a bit tired, everything works fine and I had, for example, plenty of hot water. My room had a double-bed, desk, easy chair, coffee table, wardrobe, TV and an undercounter fridge!

The ensuite had a bath with a shower attachment and shower curtain. Hair dryer was also available.

The food is plentiful and very good. Lots of choice for both breakfast and dinner on a self-service basis. Moreover, if you are lucky enough to sit at a table in the restaurant overlooking the Sea of Galilee then you will have a spectacular view.

The hotel also has a very good size outdoor swimming pool for residents to enjoy.

I would not hesitate in recommending the Golan Hotel to pilgrims and visitors to that area of Israel.

Room Tip: Grab a table in the restaurant that looks out onto the Sea of Galilee. The view is excellent.

A basic room, but clean. We paid extra for a balcony room overlooking the Sea of Galilee. Nice view, but overshadowed by a HUGE electricity pylon that blocked some of the view! Real shame.

There are some newly refurbished rooms on the higher floors, but the views from these rooms aren't as good.

In short, if you're staying in the area, the hotel is ok if you get a reasonable rate. Otherwise, there's probably better value elsewhere.

Room Tip: If you want a view - ask about the pylon first. If you'd rather a newer looking room, ask for a...

Hello,

My general i'll sum it up by saying - Nice Hotel!

Me and my wife have stayed at Golan Hotel for one night during June, 2012. The interior design of the hotel is clean and simple. It seems that the hotel was renovated few years ago and all the facilities of the hotel are in great shape.

The rooms are clean and arranged but the standard is pretty low. If your are looking for a fancy room with WIFI and flat screen TV, you should go somewhere else. The bedding and towels were clean and the bathroom was tip top.

I would like to emphasize few details concerning this hotel. First, don't miss the breakfast! The dinning room is open every day between 7 AM to 10 AM and the hotel serves a continental breakfast with many kinds of eggs, salads, fruits and pastries.
Secondly, have a drink at the hotel's lobby. The hotel is located on top of a hill which is located above the see of Galilee. Therefore, the view is tremendous.

The down side of the hotel is it's location. The hotel is located about 10 minutes of driving from the city center. Which means that you should have a car or you'll have to use texis all the time.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view to the sea of Galilee!

This hotel has an superb view on the Galilean sea. Swimmingpool and spa are ok. Towels are available at the pool. Dinner and breakfast are ok. But the rooms are rather old and not very clean. Comapred with other hotels in this area this hotel is ok.
The lobby is comfortable. Staff speaks english and is polite.
