A rather beautiful hotel, the service was good, but the atmosphere was a bit strange.

..We came to this hotel 11/11/2011 FOR A QUITE Hotel with all inclusive food as we been told that this is A 4 STAR HOTEL, We expected a modern class HOTEL. We found it to be crowded and noisy with people shouting and screaming in the restaurant which looks like a a large prison dining room with a lot of food very ugley and cheap furniture that are aging and something that you buy in a second hand shop there is a lot of food but no taste but all the Israeli people come like starved animals that didn’t see any food before the room looked like a Hospital room the bad are not confortable the paint on the wall wass pilling of near the bathroom by the the way it was room 441 thae tv is a 30 years ald brother tvThat was broken and been repaird later. We don’t recommend this hotel to human being. We been there for the first and the last time

We were on a "Holy Land" pilgrimage with a group of not less than 40 last March 2010 and arrived at the hotel at dinner-time. We headed to the dining area after checking in and indeed there was a lot of food around. It was really a feast for the eye and the tummy !There were so many people around , families and other groups , due to the Passover Holidays, so you can expect children running around. I found it peculiar but since I was in a different country, it became interesting to be in that kind of crowd. In the first place, one travels to experience and get immersed with the locals' activity.
Little did we know that the hotel offers a lot of freebies ( our travel agency must have overlooked explaining the hotels' amenities ) like free-flowing sodas, coffee, tea and some food to take while being a guest. There was some entertainment in one of the outlets but unfortunately not in English. Had we known, there was still time to spend in their indoor pool ( water being pumped-in from the Dead Sea ).
Our hotel room was so simple, I'd say not even average and quite outdated, bed wasn't comfortable but since we traveled for more than 24 hours, we managed to get a good sleep.Bath amenities and fixtures , well, seems 2 star.
Breakfast choices was again outrageous....got so excited with the olives, salads and array of cheese....and ending our stay with the indoor pool and a swim by the Dead Sea, made the difference. That made me feel I could have stay for 2 or 3 more days and experience the spa.

We stayed in this hotel for one night, as part of a family gathering. It seems like this hotel had better times in the past. It was formerly known as "Golden Tulip", but little details (like the very old AC control board) suggest that previously this hotel was known as "The Jordan River", and wasn't refurbished ever since. The room itself, despite being a bit outdated, was quite okay, although I found the shower hose to be short for my (quite average) height. The view we were offered was of the town center. Do yourself a favor and ask for a lake view room.

There are only 4 lifts in the hotel, and it seemed that only some of them function. Two of the lifts are with glass walls, overlooking the lake, and they were constantly occupied by children riding back and forth. All lifts were overcrowded, due to the renowned Israeli tendency for extreme bodily contacts, so we had to squeeze in with everyone.

During our stay we had three meals at the hotel. Here I must say that it's probably a management decision to serve loads of food as a compensation for quality. Some of the food was okay, other dishes (pasta, lasagna) were terrible. The hotel is kosher, so there were no dairy products during lunch or dinner, and all desserts were made of milk substitutes. There was more than enough food for everyone. The dining room had a pronounced smell of an unwashed floor mop.

The hotel also offers complementary drinks (including Israeli alcoholic drinks) all day long. I didn't drink anything but wine and beer, being aware of the quality and the damage potential of cheap Israeli liquor.

The hotel was very crowded, especially on Friday, and even more so on Friday evening, during the Shabbat meal. You could barely hear yourself thinking while in the dining room. The pool was crowded too, and the animators started entertaining kids there right after breakfast, leaving no opportunity to escape from them, from the kids themselves and from the loud Mediterranean pop played by the DJ. Kids are hanging around everywhere, completely unattended, and the noise is unbelievable. Their parents are noisy too, by the way.

As the hotel positions itself as an "all-included club" and intends to satisfy the unsophisticated public, we knew exactly where we're going, yet we didn't understand the extent of it. We passed on the opportunity to see a show by the hotel's entertainment band, and didn't go neither to the Kabbalah lecture nor to the disco contest. I think that for us it was an anthropological experience, and I may suggest that if you look for a quiet and serene hotel - you should look someplace else, then.

Room Tip: The lake view rooms on higher floors are the best. The higher the better - you'll hear less nois...

The main lobby was very crowded, dirty (our feet actually stack to the floor..), noisy and the food was awful!
they served the adult chichen rings which was in the children area... we found our self eating only grilled chichen every night.. the plates had ants on them..
the pool was crowded and small.
the rooms were smelly and very small. the whole hotel is very old and dirty.
our vacation was horrible and we feel we were litterly deceived, and I'd recommend everyone not to go to this hotel.
