We loved Anse Soleil beach (even better than Petite Anse) and found it was terrific for swimming and snorkeling. The access can be challenging as you need to walk through Chez Julien (Anse Soleil Café), but we found him to be friendly enough. (We did eat dinner there one night.) Must bring your own towels and snorkel gear. There are some reefs right off shore so you don't have to swim far to see some good snorkel sights. My two kids (ages 11 and 12, both certified SCUBA divers) loved it.
