it's far from Busan big city but the trip there is not difficult. Take the train to Beomeosa and then bus no 90 to the temple, dedicated. Or a taxi which cost 4000KRW up the hills from. Nice place and landscape but i went there during the summer so there was not much color to see. Like hiking, maybe a walk down and there's lots of things and small stalls alonåg the way down.

The temple is up in the mountain, so we got up there by bus. I loved the view at the top as the surrounding areas around the temple were very mountainous and scenic. At the temple, we were greeted by an elderly volunteer guide who could speak very good English. His knowledge of the temple's history and his kind hospitality made our trip to Beomeosa temple very meaningful and enjoyable.

I was expecting the place to be very touristy as it is quite a highly-rated tourist attraction, but instead the place was dominated by many local devotees paying a visit to the temple, which gives the place that local touch which I really appreciate.

The terrain is quite hilly leading up to and inside the temple compound, so expect a bit of a climb.

Beomoesa is one of the most gorgeous temple sites - its very difficult to believe how close you are to the hustle and bustle of Busan proper here. I took the bus from the subway (exit 1, turn 180 degrees, follow the temple signs up the road - take bus 90) and it cost me 1300 ₩. The staff are really helpful and very friendly. The Buddhism history museum is definately worth a visit, even though there is very little information in English, the relics are beautiful to look at. Also take a wander in the wisteria forest - I saw some great bird life.

A word of advice if you have a backpack though, try and find a locker at the subway to stash it - getting up the stairs at Beomeosa can be a little difficult if your pack is heavy.

We went here as we were going on the hike up the mountain behind it and it starts here.
Very pretty and serene although it was quite busy on a Sunday.
Free guide service! We were shown around by a very nice elderly man with good English who is obviously passionate about the site.
