“Refurbished Hilton is a very comfortable place to stay”
Reviewed 16 July 2013

But very expensive. It costs almost 250 USD, room only, the only sunday night we spend here. The hotel grounds are grandiose, from their vast manucured lawn, to their real Miro hung in the marble lobby. There are numerous restaurants to hesitate each evening and a huge spa. The Gyeongju Hilton is a super luxury enclave along the Bomun lake shore

We like :
- Very roomy, our room opens to the back of the hotel, over the Bomun lake and the museum. It lacks nothing, thanks to its family name. There is a modern touch of luxury that may grace some eyes, but to be honest, it is in the norm of any Hilton worldwide, no less.
- The bed side is wonderfull with plenty of different pillows to choose from.
- The bathroom is great with plenty of amenities. Tea and coffee facilities

We don't :
- The reption is rather indifferent. Polite as always, but lacks the warm welcome elsewhere.
- Internet connection still extra, as always with big names.

So you can bet on this place without a doubt, thanks to the Family name, just come and enjoy, then pay accodingly.

Our deluxe double room was spacious and comfortable, balcony equipped with deck chairs overlooking the lake. There is a range of restaurants and prices for food - including Chinese, Italian, Japanese (delicious) and an international breakfast buffet. When booking, try to choose the option with breakfast included, because it is quite expensive otherwise. The public areas of the hotel - lobby, bar/cafe, are lovely. They have fabulous artworks. The staff were very helpful - especially the concierge who gave us useful tour advice. The only negative - and this is a small one - is the extra charge for pool use.

Cannot communicate with the concierge and staff members who are very very suspicious (they jump on you to kick you out by definition). To the question: where is the bar, where can I have a drink with my colleagues? the answer was not: there is a bar around the swimming pool (nobody told me about the that pool by the way, nobody told me about the breakfast room)...but there is a night shop the other side of the street. Impossible to ask questions about tours and so on. Terrible for that brand

Excellent Hotel - Great Location - Excellent People and Service. Would recommend 100% - Great value for the money. Great experience with all staff from bell hops to front desk to concierge. They are all willing to help and go way out of their way to assist with any things that you may require. Location is great near the KTX station and downtown a short distance away. Excellent landscape in the area with the Bomun lake and related activities walking distance away.

I stayed in 경주 with my father during Autumn. The area was quiet and many shops weren't open. Our room faced the mountains and had great views of the vibrant red, orange and yellow trees covering the mountains. We were lucky to stay on a newly renovated floor, which had nicely furnished rooms.

Personally, staying at this hotel restricted how much of the local culture we could have been involved in. One night we planned to have dinner at a restaurant in the hotel. The meals were ridiculously overpriced considering South Korea's exchange rate, so we decided to eat elsewhere. We eventually found a family owned restaurant nearby, and received one of the best traditional meals I had eaten on the trip for less than 5000 Won ($5). Starbucks was another food outlet nearby and sold great coffees for a quarter the price of the Hilton.

This hotel was good quality, but over priced considering other places available in the town.

We had reservations about the cost of the Hilton at Gyeongju but it was one of the few hotels that didn't have any bad reviews. On arrival we realised we'd made a good choice - you certainly get value for your money at this beautiful hotel with extremely polite and courteous service. Restaurants provide wonderful service and excellent food - world class choice.
