“Beautiful upscale hotel but extras pricey”
Reviewed 21 September 2013

Stayed here for one night with my two teenagers. The hotel is what you would expect from a large Hilton. Grand entrance, stylish, spacious room, excellent services, helpful, friendly staff. There was a good range of TV stations in English for the kids and good wi-fi. The restaurants looked very good but they were upscale and expensive which might have been great for a couple but made them less of a good choice for a family in terms of value and teenage tastes. However, there is a Starbucks behind the hotel which was good for breakfast and a fabulous Korean barbeque place in the mall across the street which were better suited to our needs and more affordable. As others have commented, the pool facilities are extra and are quite expensive, but the pool was lovely and it was worth it for the kids to get some pool time after sightseeing. We did get an excellent deal on the room rate so even with the extra costs for the pool it was a pretty good deal overall. Personally, I find these large, international hotels a bit impersonal and the area is also a bit lacking in character, but that is just personal preference and the hotel itself was very high standard.

Very nice and calm place for rest. The room is perfect. Dinner at Italian restaurant was good. Breakfast was good. And nice city as well. Highly recommended, especially for honey moon.

I have stayed at this hotel several times. The newly renovated rooms are very nice, with comfortable beds and contemporary furnishings. The breakfast buffet is fantastic. The location on Bomun Lake is very convenient to the walking path around the lake and other attractions. Best hotel in Gyeongju!

Lovely accommodations with very spacious room & good family dining. Excellent for a family with a variety of ages. We did not use the water facilities, but it would have been wonderful for children of any age. Food was very good, although a bit expensive for a family. Service in the dining room was very good, with great care for the children.

They've renovated rooms recently. It was a good sleep buried in comfortable bed after pleasant bath. In the morning we had a fresh walk around the Bomun lake. The art gallery was also good to look around. There are indoor and outdoor swimming pools and a jaccuzzi. The outdoor swimming pool is 1.6 meters deep enough to enjoy floating.
The bakery served good breads like rye bread. And my son liked beef-fry-rice at chinese restaurant.
We could have a good time at Gyeungju World amusement park nearby.

Pros: The staff at this hotel is extremely helpful. Cons: If you have kids and expecting to spend a day at the pool then forget about it, unless you are prepared to pay approx US$20/day for pool access/adult (after 50% discount!) and $17 per child. Please also note that if you use the tooth brush in the room, that cost $2/tooth brush.

We stayed 7 nights and had a wonderful stay. We had rental a car and parking was convenient and free. A rental car is a plus, because the hotel is not in the center in town, but more important driving yourself makes stops at small villages and exploring backroads possible. Make sure you rent a navigation as well.

We were upgraded to a newly renovated suite which was spotlessly clean and very quiet.
The response times of calls for assistance were amazing. We made three calls and staff was at our door within two minutes. Staff is extremely friendly, polite and helpful.

We talked to the cook and he told us that the breakfast surpassed the usual standards. He was right, because the choice was very varied and of of high quality, but Korean oriented. A few days the hotel was fully booked, but service never suffered.

The cakeshop sells very tasty pastry.

Not having a lounge can be an advantage. Now we ate at Korean restaurants along the way and gained some more Korean experiences.

A highly recommendable hotel.

Room Tip: The view of the lake is worth the surcharge.
